Over the Rainbow Bridge
These 2 are crazy and I thought I was, but the other day when Dad was at work one of them ( probably Celia, (not trying to gossip about her up or anything) I don't know because I was sleeping ) chewed the doorstop to the bedroom and we all got shut-in, so when Dad came home it was amazing and he didn't even get grumpy that his keyboard had been knocked off the desk as we were all so pleased to see him Princess Jess is lovely and Celia is just proper strange, I've shown her how to open drawers already and Dad has had to tell her NO a few times, Dad said before she came here that she was Nervous, always kept her tail between her legs and I needed to look after her but shes a fruit loop, her tail is stupid and she always wins the Eating the dinner race ( I always come second even though I get my dinner first and Jess always comes last) Dad says I need to teach them both the "Out of my kitchen " game but thats another story , I need sleep Love Carrie Xx

How lovely to hear how Russ is getting on. It can be quite daunting going into a new environment, yes he has had a couple of hiccups but sounds like he is doing well. Three dogs is very rarely more difficult than having two....just saying. Thanks so very much for fostering him over Christmas. Love Jo and the furry FIVE!!!!!! X

HI, WOW I have this amazing new bed, it's taken me a few days to realize its mine, it has a memory foam matress a quilt and 2 pillows, Carrie shares it with me and sometimes Jeff sleeps on it. I am a bit scared here of "The dog that comes in the night", whenever I go to the top of the stairs and look out of the window I can see it, its looks like me, it moves when I move and so I bark at it and it barks back at the same time, then Celia and Carrie come along and 2 other dogs join in with the one outside and they look like Carrie and Celia, it's proper weird though because they are never there in the day, but Jeff just closes the curtains and it goes away, I think he's scared of the dogs outside as well ,anyway, Just thought I'd say Happy New year and loads of Love from Princess Jess xx

Hi again , I seem to be doing OK after my visit to the vets , so is Princess Jess , and it must be a thing going on because Jeff seems to be better after his visit to the Doctors on Christmas eve anyway this place is fun , theres loads of stuff to chew and the food is good too , Ive just had Kebab and chips mixed in with my dinner and then every other day I have Sardines , Carrie said that Jeff had said to her that I was the type of dog that would stare into a bowl of water for hours anyway Love you all ... Celia xx

Over the Rainbow Bridge
Day 7 fostering - Russ is such a lovely boy. He is a quick learner and has already learnt (mostly) to pee outside,- only 3 'accidents' in total, climb stairs, stand still while his paws are wiped, and not to steal food off the worktops - again, mostly. He walks well on the lead - gets a bit excited when he sees smaller dogs but nothing worryingly so. He was great with visitors and small children over Christmas. He sleeps in our bedroom with Reggie all night. No whining and can wait until morning for a pee. We left all 3 dogs for 3 half hours yesterday and I think he may have got a little stressed out as he managed to bolt the front door (locking us out) of home and knocked a plate off the drainer smashing it on the floor. Whoops! He is very loving, wants lots of cuddles and is very affectionate. We would have no hesitation in keeping him but for the fact that we have 2 dogs already. He will make a lovely companion and pet for the right humans. We will miss him very much when it is time for him to go back to the kennels.

Mom says my diet has gone to pot. Apparently I have been having far too many sausages over the last few days. Not sure that is possible! Sorry Drew that we didn’t get to meet but it is lovely to hear you are having a good Christmas. Lubs to all Florence. Xxx

Ah my boy it sounds like you have found yourself a brilliant home with lots of pals and lovely things to do. A bit naughty to pinch the steak, although I know you are a bit fussy about your food so you obviously have expensive tastes!!! Keep up the good work, and have a brilliant retirement. xx

Drew
I’m Homed
Drew has been with us since Monday evening and he seems to be settling quite well. He is absolutely fascinated by all the new things he is coming into contact with, but being 6 there is a lot of the outside world to catch up with. He likes company, so I think that coming into a home with other greyhounds has helped him settle, although he isn't trying to be top dog. (That is definitely Cello's job.) He hasn't cocked his leg inside the house since Tuesday, probably my rather loud 'no' and the fact we were expecting it so kept a good eye on him. He really does seem to be learning from our greyhounds so I think that perhaps he might be happier in his forever home with another hound for company rather than on his own. He can be quite lively on his walks, especially with small furries, but mostly it is because everything is new and he wants to see it all. It has taken us a couple of nights to settle him, he needed to know that as the last arrival his is the bed on the landing just outside our bedroom door, but once settled in his bed he sleeps the night. He loves his food, but so far there has been no aggression towards the others, he does however need to learn a few manners around food when you are eating. He is a loving boy who loves cuddles, like I mentioned before after taking him to the park, he needs to see the big wide world as normal instead of all new. He is a large lad, but with a little bit of time to settle and to improve his food manners a little he will make a lovely addition to his forever family.

Good morning all, Danny has settled in great, he is a very good boy with only 1 incident where he spotted a nice bit of steak my wife had cut up to put in a stir fry and he pinched a bit lol, but after a 4 hour ride home completely incident free we just laughed, he gets on well with his new friends 3 border collies and pinky our pot bellied pig, he loves his runs round the fishery in the morning and down the field in the afternoon, we havent been down the beach yet but as soon as the weather improves we'll be there. He's loving all the fuss and attention he's getting and when he's had enough its a quick warm in front of the log burner and lie down on his bed next to the radiator. I will send pictures and updates through and i'm starting a new fb group called a greyhounds life. hope you all had a great christmas and wishing you a happy new year, best wishes, Darren, Hannah, Danny, Toffee, sooty, casper and pinky xx
