A big cuddle for William tonight. He had his Neutering operation today. He is a very friendly lad and enjoyed all the extra fuss from the staff at the vets. He met three smaller dogs and was very good with them. :)) Hope a forever home will soon be his. Xxx

Fleur visited the vet for her vaccination this morning. She was so excited to get in the van and go on an adventure! She gave everyone a happy, friendly greeting and was a very brave girl when she had her injection. Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Declan and I had an early morning trip to the vets today. New lad William was off to be neutered and Fleur had the first part of her vaccination. They were both so well behaved at the vets. They met three smaller dogs and were very friendly and polite. 🙂 Many thanks to Richard and Ian for picking William up later this afternoon. He was very bouncy when he arrived back at the kennels and enjoyed his dinner. Xxx It was a pleasant autumn day and all the dogs enjoyed morning and afternoon walks. According to a weather forecast, we are having a mini heatwave at the weekend, so it will be back to summer again! :)) Shirley has been busy recently planting up the containers with winter pansies and daffodils. :)) Thank you! Xxx It was lovely to see Nifty, Cilla, Flo and their Mom and Dad this morning. They came to have a play in the sand run. Nifty had a nice rest in the office for a while afterwards. He has recently celebrated his eleventh Birthday and is still a very handsome lad! He was a long stayer at Daybreaks before he found his lovely forever home. We hope that the same will happen for our current long stayers, Rocky, Robbie and Gal. Xxx Thanks so much to everyone for your help today. Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Hi all, Sunday 22nd October has been confirmed as our roadshow at Morrisons Sheldon. It will be the same timings as we did in June – I will get there around 9am to set up. If you wish to help out on the day, please let me know. The more the better the day goes. Any timings with help is welcome. You are welcome to bring your own dog if you wish, if you plan on doing so please let me know so I can then account for kennel dog numbers. We will be just inside the store at the bottom of the escalators with the possibility of being outside under the gazebo, weather pending. The last time we did this store we raised a total of £285 which was amazing! Contact me on rob.daybreaks@outlook.com if you wish to help out / brign a dog a long for the day

Rocky (Pan)

As Kate has previously said Pan is a very friendly lad. Today was his first visit to Elmdon Park. He did have to be lifted into the car but settled down well. On arrival in the park he did get very excited and vocal at seeing other dogs running free off the lead. He did then become very strong on the lead.. As the walk progressed and he became used to the surroundings he became more settled. He met other breeds with curiosity but no aggression. Although an affectionate friendly boy he can become quite strong on the lead if seeing other dogs running free.. Prospective adoptors should be aware of that..Hopefully that permanent home will not be too long arriving and what sometimes happens to black male dogs getting overlooked won't happen to him.

Daybreaks Diary!

A great day for Bessie, she met a lovely couple this afternoon. They were just, 'coming to have a look' and ended up falling head over heels for her! She will have a lovely home. Xxx We had lots of donations of bedding today. Thank you so much to everyone who thought of us. One lady drove passed us twice before arriving....we are very grateful she persevered and found us! 🙂 Xxx The rain stayed away for most of the day, all the dogs had two nice walks....in between breakfast, lunch and dinner. :)) A big thank you to everyone who came in to help today, especially Jayne who did a lot of extra cleaning and sorted out all of the donated bedding. Xxx I can't believe it is the 1st of October tomorrow, where has this year gone? Do hope that Rocky, Robbie and Gal will all have happy forever homes before the end of the year. Xxx xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

A very busy day today...The Pet Blood Bank were at the kennels. Current residents, Gal, Gracie, Pan and Special were all donors. :)) Lovely Bessie was more than happy to jump into the mobile unit and meet the vet and her assistants but was a little too scared to donate today. Xxx Pet dogs Shadow, Star, Betty, Freida, Sammy, and Nadia were donors too. Well done to them all! Xxx If you are interested in your Greyhound becoming a Blood Donor, please call The Pet Blood Bank on 01509 232 222. Cath came in with her little dog Pod and we introduced her to Gracie, Special, and Bessie who were all very good with her. Xxx Cath has Fostered Gracie for us! 🙂 She is going to help her lose a little weight as she is rather well rounded at the moment. :)) And hopefully find her a new home...Fingers crossed. Xxx Alan and Declan went off to the Warehouse for us. Thank you. Xxx Thank you to the visitors who brought in donations of bedding and food. We are very grateful for your support. Xxx Thanks so much to everyone who helped at the kennels today! Xxx
