I took Jess to Fivelands this morning for her spey. We always get a sample of urine to check they are fit for surgery and unfortunately her urine was too dilute to proceed. Therefore we will take in another sample next week and see how she is doing.

Lol! So Larry arrived at the kennels with Monty and May about 11.30 yesterday. We popped their slip leads on and brought them in and Marie spotted Larry and fell in love! Larry seemed equally attached to Marie! Wishing both of them a happy life together. Xx

I truly hope someone can take a 'chance' with Rocky. I'm just not sure what he is missing? He needs a home, his family. He is such a loving dog, and it's so wonderful to read how he is socialising. Rocky settled in to our home so well when we had him as a foster. I think about him every day!! We are just not able to take another dog on. You are gorgeous Rocky. It will happen xx

DO YOU LOVE GREYHOUNDS? Are you an energetic, hard working person with a happy outlook on life? Would you like to work at Daybreaks in an Assistant Manager role for 3 days a week (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday's)? This is a temporary post for 6 months to cover sick leave. The role would include all aspects of running the kennels, from managing the dogs with new intake, viewings and rehomings, managing volunteers and students, vet runs etc! Closing date for applications is 22nd October 2023. To apply, please email ruth.price@daybreakstrust.co.uk This is currently to provide cover whilst Jo is off on long term sick. Three gorgeous new arrivals today - Larry, May and Monty. A viewing turned into a reservation for Larry. We have had little Fleur in the office all day. She was neutered yesterday and so has had a lot of TLC from us. She was a bit panting and shaky this morning and wouldn't eat.... bless her - however she has eaten well this evening and I am sure will feel much brighter tomorrow. The day has ended as a soggy one but it won't dampen our spirits!

Hello it's Marie Pip's mum as was and hopefully now Larry's mum. My boss is a huge dog lover and is going to hopefully sort it tomorrow so that I can have all next week off so I could pick him up on Sat if he's able to have his bags all packed by then lol. I think I can turn off before the hospital onto Damson Lane and turn up the little lane and park by the guest house that is if HS2 hasn't messed with the route that way too. The Airport way blew my mind. Thank you for being so kind to me today it was much appreciated I'm still a bit of an emotional train wreck xx

Little Fleur went off to the vets this morning for her Neutering operation. Thanks so much to Ian for picking her up for us this evening. She was a little wobbly and sore. Hope she will feel better tomorrow. Xxx All being well, she will be going home on Thursday. Xxx it was very sad to see Robin back at the kennels today. Hoping she will soon be in a new home. Thinking of her and her family who were so upset to have to return her. Xxx A lovely family came to visit Pan this afternoon. They had a very sweet older Greyhound, she liked him very much. :)) We are expecting three new arrivals tomorrow! Two boys and a girl. :)) Thanks so much to everyone for your help today. Very much appreciated. Xxx

Very sadly Robin has been returned today. She hasn't been getting on with the other two family dogs and recently the problem has been getting worse. Her family have tried so hard to help her, but after much discussion they have made the heartbreaking decision to find her another home. Robin is a really lovely girl, walks well on the lead and is good with other dogs she meets on her walks. She can be left on her own and is vey affectionate. What she would really like is a home where she is the only dog....she likes to have her owner all to herself! Xxx

Jess paid her first visit to Elmdon Park today. She was an absolute delight to be with. She's an affectionate loving girl who walks sensibly on the lead. She met other breeds including a group of 5 who were running excitedly around her making a lot of noise. She coped with it perfectly. A lovely girl who I'm sure is going to give a lot of love and happiness to whoever gives her that forever home
