Daybreaks Diary!

It was a busy day at the kennels today with a visit from the Pet Blood Bank. We are very grateful to Barney, Boycie, Shadow, Star, Betty, Freida, Sammy and Nadia for coming in to donate. Xxx :)) Trust dogs, Missy, Violet, Gino and Monty also donated. Xxx We welcomed pretty girl River to Daybreaks this afternoon. What a happy little whirlwind she is! :)) We decided it was far too cold for her to have a bath! Hopefully the temperature should rise in the next few days. Xxx It was bitterly cold today...Brrr....We did go out for walks, but the dogs had fleeces and winter Blizzards on so quite snug. The heaters were kept on in the kennels, so it was nice and warm for them when they got back. Thanks so much to all of our volunteers who braved the chilly weather to look after our boys and girls. Roll on spring!! Xxx

Monty

Monty donated blood to the Pet Blood Bank for the second time today. :)) Sue, our new volunteer went into the Mobile Blood Bank van with him. She said he was very keen to sample all of the treats on offer! When the team were leaving this afternoon, the vet told me Monty had been her favourite donor today! :)) It would be great if the next time they visit us, Monty came back to donate with his family as a pet dog. Lots of love to our handsome lad. Xxx

Hi everyone. Happy New Year x lovely to see how many of you are going out to your new homes, there is a home waiting for everyone; it will happen xx Joshy continues to be a loving, patient happy boy. He has been to the vets on a couple of occasions recently and was just so waggy tailed and friendly; he certainly powered up his lean magnet! Joshy now plays with his toys, inside. This may sound so small, but for Joshy it is massive. He enjoys his little reindeer being thrown for him to catch. It's a joy. Walks and cuddles continue to be top of his list. He returns the love by his smiling face, his greeting you (as though you've been gone forever!) and placing his head on your lap. Good boy joshy xx

Spirit
I’m Homed
Spirit has spent a couple of days in foster since being returned on Monday. He is a lovely gentle boy but would thrive with lots of love, and really enjoys his walks. He is great with other breeds but sadly the small dog in the foster home is too wary of young, spritely Spirit hence him coming back to Daybreaks this morning! If he had a school report he would get an A+ He is clean in the house, fine around food and settled well into home life - he is wonderful at leaning! we are desperate to get this lovely boy into a home. The foster home agrees he would be great living with other breeds as long as they are used to a young happy dog.
