Over the Rainbow Bridge
Just an update for Josh's page to help him xx Josh has his breakfast (2 mugs of burns & some tinned loaf meat) with his medication in the morning. Gobbles the lot! Walk then he can be left for the day. He settles himself, clean and house tidy. Joshy has started waiting in the porch to have his lead & harness taken off, he's very well mannered!! No problem at all with this routine. Straight out for a wee and a run around the garden when I get home. Josh LOVES to play with his large kong squeaky ball, he's hilarious and he is very interactive, dropping it, bowing, zooming!! Next meal is about 5:30/6 & a tablet. 1 mug of burns and some tinned loaf meat. No fuss! Another walk, longer walk with lots of sniffing! Josh doesnt pull, he trots so nicely and waits, he's really good. He looks at cats & squirrels but doesn't react unsafely. Joshy then has another little snack with his night time medication around 21:30. Josh loves his treats and biscuits, chews! He loves being with us, and will always come and sit with us or lean!! His bed is his space, he self settles there and sleeps all night. We put a lamp on for him. He sat by us last night whilst we were watching a loudish film, he kept waking, looking around, but settled with us reassuring him (verbally). It was really pleasing to see. He's super smiley, happy and waggy tailed. No barking other than a 'bwop' when he wants to play! He whines a little, but this is his talking he's not distressed with it and quickly reassured. We still have our safe boundaries with Josh, no waking or touching him on his bed. Not allowing him on the sofa. He doesn't come upstairs. We haven't mixed with children; because we've had no need to! Josh doesn't bark at other dogs, they tend to bark at him! So both of these I cant comment on. He is just a really sweet little boy. I can't change his past. But I just want to give him the credit he deserves, we have not experienced any upsetting or distressed behaviour and he makes me smile every day!! Fostering him has been such a good experience for us both to date. Please don't hesitate in asking questions, I am only too happy to help. xx

Over the Rainbow Bridge
Rainbow Bridge gained another Daybreaks Beauty this week. Xxx Our Volunteer Anne lost her beautiful girl Delphy. Xxx At almost 13 Delphy had a long and very happy life. She and Anne shared many adventures together and she has left so many wonderful memories. During her stay at the kennels I remember her jumping onto my lap for a cuddle! :)) Xxx Anne adored her, she was her best friend. She will miss Delphy so very much. God Bless your sweet little Angel. Xxx

Murphy (Billy)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Very, very, sadly, Shirley and Richard lost their wonderful Murphy last weekend. They are heartbroken. Xxx Murphy was a very happy and affectionate lad, who was always doing something he shouldn't. 🙂 Shirley would often come to the kennels and say, "Guess what Murphy has done now!" But, they adored him. Xxx Happy, go-lucky, he was a frequent donor for the Pet Blood Bank, he loved his holidays to Norfolk, but most of all he really loved his food! :)) At just eight years old he was taken far too soon, he will be missed so much by them and his big brother Drew and sisters Freida and Betty. Xxx Sending them all lots of love at this very sad time. God Bless your handsome Murphy. He is now problably doing something he shouldn't at Rainbow Bridge. 🙂 Xxx

Martha (Babe)

We left Babe for 4 hours again today. All fine. Doggy spy cam showed a mix of standing up in her crate and flat out in it. Her character is coming through now. She’s a happy, waggy girl who loves a bit of fuss. She tentatively tried the sofa yesterday and licked out a yoghurt pot this evening after watching how Kitty did it. Babe is ready for a home of her very own now. There must be a home out there with a Babe shaped hole in it.

Well done boy!!! It was lovely to have gentle cuddles with you today. I prayed for something nice to happen today as it would have been Daddy Melly's 16th & Teddy's 14th birthdays. You are much shyer than my Teddy was but hopefully your new mum Lisa will see you flourish slowly. At least all the attention will be on you and by the time you get to go on holibobbles next summer with your aunt's little dog you will be a confident and happy chappy. I told you everything would be alright & you would get your turn....everything comes to those who wait patiently. Many congratulations to Lisa & Duke. May you both be blessed with many funfilled years of health and happiness together. Such joyous news for this gentle soul. Warmest wishes from Seana & Fergal.
