    I’m Homed

One word sums up today - WET!! Our team of students and volunteers got morning walks done in the dry, but unfortunately were half way through afternoon walks when the monsoons descended!! They all trooped back absolutely dripping wet bless them. I think the doggies secretly enjoyed the extra attention they got being dried off in their kennels - not so sure the students & volunteers were all that happy though! The girls took turns drying themselves with the hairdryer we use for pamper packages, lol!! It was then hot chocolate all round! Massive thanks for everyone's help today, especially in the awful weather. There were plenty of Health Checks, weighing's and teeth cleanings to do during the day, and the cleaning/tidying blitz continues apace! I met new girl Lola - what a little sweetheart she is. She is not eating too well at the minute, but it is still early days for her. Talking of eating, I made a batch of salmon & green bean fishcakes yesterday for our boys and girls - and it's safe to say they went down a treat for breakfast! They are really easy to make and are very palatable, easily digestible and full of good nutrition. It was so good to see Ruth this afternoon. She came in for an hour to see the handsome Johnny off to his new home, and is gradually starting to build up the time that she spends at the kennels as she is still recovering from her surgery. Take it steady Ruth, and you'll soon be back at the helm. xx Well another weekend has arrived, and this one will be a busy one with the Dog Show on Sunday. Thank you to everyone who has offered to take one of our residents for a day out - all doggies that can go are now spoken for. x Whatever you're doing this weekend, enjoy and stay dry - and we hope to see lots of you at the show on Sunday. For purely medicinal purposes after getting soaked today, it will have to be a tot of brandy for my usual toast this evening! Here's hoping that one of our lovely boys & girls may find their forever home - cheers! Angie xx

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Sadly we had to say goodbye to Melody last Friday. We hope she enjoyed living with us as much as we enjoyed being with her.Our first ever dog,she had a lovely personality, and we were distraught to have to let her go.As they say, don't be sad because she's gone, be happy because you knew her

Tommy is really a lot more friendly and cuddly than his photos suggest.I sat with him for quite a while, and he started licking my ears -you can't get much more friendly than that! What an affectionate beautifully marked boy.

    I’m Homed

Had a cuddle with Wilma in her little 'apartment' this morning. Lovely dog and not too big either -leaving a little bit of space on the sofa for a human.Nice and gentle -definitely worth a look if you're visiting this weekend. Reserve her while you still can!

If the prospective new owners change their mind (unlikely I know), can I go first reserve.Spent a magical half hour giving her a cuddle this morning while the others had their walk. She's an absolute beauty.

    I’m Homed

A busy day 🙂 Yvonne and our fab work experience student Kerry did a great job of cleaning this morning. We had several wet beds which meant everything took a little longer. Alan and Paddy arrived with the donuts at just the right time. 🙂 We kept Declan busy too, first going with Bob to collect lovely Lola from the track and then accompanying Alan to the warehouse. Lols is s very pretty and happy girl. :)) It was great to see Ruth back at the kennels. Tig has grown up a lot since I last saw her. She has calmed down too! :))) Xxx

Hi Helen and Dave. She is absolutely fine, don't know what it was, but if she was trying to rub her face she may have been stung although I couldn't see anything obvious. She may have just lost her balance whilst scratching, she is missing a toe which may have put her off balance. It didn't stop her celebrating with the others and their fish suppers!

Hmmm Helen - that's not nice! At least Andy thinks I am cute ha ha! It was great being back at the kennels for a few hours - I was able to sit and do paperwork and Momma and Tig came with me and Rummy who I am looking after for a couple of days whilst his owners get married! It was lovely to see everyone and thank goodness it was a Thursday as it meant there were donuts from Alan - it was worth coming in for! Anyway, enough from me - Lola really is a beautiful girl - so very happy and loving - I was very tempted to pop her in with mine to take home but could Andy cope with another gorgeous girl at home?!!! Ruth x
