Razzle - on your walk this morning we had a quiet word about you getting a sofa. And when we got back to the kennels someone was there to make your wish come true. So happy for you. Xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
What an amazing day. Thanks as always to our Wednesday walkers and our college students. I had a vet run with Grayson (Topper) for his post op check, the vet was very pleased with his healing. When I eventually got back to the kennels after being stuck in traffic for 25 minutes on the Coventry Road (where it sould only take 2 - 3 minutes to get to the kennels) there was a lady who had come to drop off some volunteer forms. She ended up reserving Razzle...yay!!!! He was currently our second longest stayer. Turns out she had checked his family tree and he shared the same line as her dog that had recently crossed rainbow bridge. Her children had asked her to go and see him when she came in, she fell for him straight away. The next surprise of the day was a call to say that Kenny was going to be collected. With the home check passed his new owner couldn't wait to take him home. Wishing him and his Mom a very happy life together. Thanks for the donations of bedding and raffle prizes. We hope to see as many of you as possible at the dog show on Sunday.

Happy Birthday Maisie! She had a lovey card handmade by Shirley. :)) Maisie was delighted to find their was a Bonio biscuit in the envelope! She had an exciting afternoon which involved her giving blood. She absolutely loved all the extra fuss and attention and she was a real hit with the nurses when she showed off her dancing skills when they were trying to do the pre op bits and pieces. She really is a special girl! 🙂 Xxx

Well done Willow on your 15th blood donation. Such a worthwhile thing to do. Our big strong boy got quite stressed on his 3rd donation so the blood bank nurses had no hesitation in retiring him. They always put the dogs wellbeing first. Xx

Flloyd (Lurch)
I’m Homed
Good boy Flloyd also donated blood this morning. He is on his 7th donation, he is such a good boy and loves all attention he gets from the blood bank girls. If anyone is unsure about taking their grey to donate please speak to either the kennels or Pet Blood Bank directly. Every usable unit taken can save up to 4 dogs lives. It is so worth while. In addition every dog receives a full health check. Flloyd and Willow particularly like the treats, goody bag, toy and dog food they get after donating!

It was off to the kennels this morning for an appointment with the Pet Blood Bank. I thought it would be Willows last donation as she will be 9 on Christmas eve. There is one more visit before then so can donate one last time before retiring! I hadn't realised that this was her 15th donation!! She has always been a little star when giving blood. Today she received a beautiful ceramic bowl in recognition of her 15th donation. It has a lovely inscription saying 'I've helped save up to 60 lives'. So very, very proud of her. Jo xxx

Stanley
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Again Good News From the New Forest from Stanley & Daisy. Stanley will be 11 on Sunday 13th and has been with us 6.5 years now. He is due to go to the vets tomorrow (Wednesday) pm to see an Orthopaedic specialist for assessment. He is walking better so we thought while he is better a check over to keep him ok might help in the long-term. I'm sure he will get cake on Sunday and that Daisy will help him eat it. Thanks to all the carers and greys for their forever homes/sofas. Good luck to all Greys in the show on Sunday. Lots of love Stanley, Daisy, Tim & Sue plus Spanner (Anna). P:S Dad wrote Gemma twice instead of Daisy but sure you will understand, but he leaves corrections to me.
