Dewey (Dew)
I’m Homed
I walked Dewey this afternoon. She is growing in confidence. Willis was on the walk too but she wasn't glued to his side like she used to be. She's such a sweetheart. I hope she finds her forever home with Willis very soon. Good luck. x

Luna (Wilma)
I’m Homed
Wilma is a sweet little girl. Very dinky. I took her on the Sheldon walk this morning. She travelled very well - just needed a bit of a hand getting in and out of the crate. When we got out into the car park she showed her happy nature straight away and did a couple of little skips. She was excellent on the walk. She does grumble a little bit if another dog comes near her but this seems to be if it's unexpected or a non-greyhound. She walked with my 2 and others without any problems. She wasn't keen on a little pug/bulldog type dog on an extendable lead that came too close and she was interested in a football that was kicked nearby but she didn't seem at all nervous. I'm sure she'll settle down soon enough and not grumble once in her forever home. Whoever adopts her will have a lovely pet. Good luck Wilma in finding your forever home very soon. x

Razzle
I’m Homed
Razzle came with me to Sheldon Country Park today. He's a delightful dog, who loves being with people. He travelled well and really enjoyed his walk. He starts a little strong on the lead but does calm down after a short time. He was a good boy with other breeds. A very handsome lad xx

Lovely Elmer came with me to Sheldon Country Park today. He travelled well and was a pleasure to be with. He is a thoroughly happy boy, who enjoyed being out and about. He was curious about other breeds and wanted to say hello to everyone. Happy to receive lots of fuss. Such a bundle of fun xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
Cleo was much better today 🙂 Topper and Johnny were also happy boys 🙂 Xx I think sometimes we forget how uncomfortable they must feel after their neutering operations....they never complain! Xxx We had several visitors to use the run today including Digger the Staffie and tiny Hugo the Italian Greyhound. :)) Kenny spent the day in the kitchen again with Bobby, my other three were not interested in coming with me today! :)) We had a lot of visitors to the kennels and everyone came to say Hello to Kenny. He enjoyed the extra attention. Xx We sold more tickets to the "Countdown To Christmas" event next month, can't believe how quickly Christmas is coming!! Many thanks to everyone for their help today and thanks to all those who have expressed an interest in taking one of our residents for a day out to the Dog Show next weekend. It was really lovely to see Ruth today. :)) Fingers crossed she will be able to start coming to the kennels for short periods of time while she is still recovering from her recent surgery. Xxx Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
It was another day of dodging the showers today - but at least the doggies had morning and afternoon walks and some sand run playtime in the dry. Jo was on the Vet run this morning as it was Johnny's turn to go off to be neutered. He came back this afternoon sporting a very fetching pink bandage! It was also Topper's turn at the Vet to be neutered after a couple of delays - thanks to his new Dad for taking him and picking him up. Little Cleo was still very wobbly and really not herself this morning - but by this afternoon the lovely waggy tail had returned and she was much brighter. Our lovely team of students and volunteers meant the doggies were well taken care of today, and the tidying blitz continued! It is great to be able to get on with the tasks that have needed doing for ages - but we just couldn't ever get round too! Thank you everyone for everything accomplished today. x This afternoon saw the beautiful Sally reserved. Pending a home check she will have a lovely Labrador brother to live with. I sold the first tickets for "Countdown to Christmas " today - yay! It promises to be a great evening, so give the kennels a call to reserve your tickets. We have some great stall holders coming along, so I am saving up already in anticipation!! Well I cant believe I am typing this again - but another weekend is upon us! Let's hope that by Monday morning, some more of our fabulous Daybreaks Greys will have found their forever homes - and I will raise my glass of wine in a toast to this. Don't forget - if you have homed from us previously or are a registered volunteer and would like to take one of our residents to the Dog show on 13th October - give the kennels a call. The doggies would be very grateful and would enjoy a day out. Whatever you're doing this weekend, enjoy. Cheers! Angie xx
