Oh my, what a beautiful new photo of the lovely Dewey - supported by her kennel mate Mr Willis. This little girl is so sweet but so wary of the world still - she will retreat if things get too overwhelming for her. She definitely needs doggy company to show her the way - and you've got to admit, a brindle couple would be fab!!

Anyone got experience of heart problems in the grey? We thought that Norris was losing weight, so a trip to the vet ensued today. The good news is that he has actually put weight on. Unfortunately, his heart murmur has significantly deteriorated. It was graded a 3 in April, but today it is a 6, the worst level. The vet was concerned as she’s never heard heart sounds like his, it sounds like a whistle! She let me have a listen, and she’s right, it does. As a result, Norris has been referred to a heart specialist for tests to see what is going on, and what treatment is available. As he’s 10, I’m a little worried, so any advice would be appreciated.

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A horrible wet miserable day... not nice for walking but all dogs managed morning and afternoon walks, by the end of morning walks the lane was flooded. This was thanks to our lovely Vodafone volunteers and our intrepid Wednesday walkers, all got very wet indeed. The Vodafone volunteers watched and helped with health checks, and a couple went and sat with some of our residents. Not surprisingly it was very quiet for visitors, in fact I think the only visitor came in to buy a doggie raincoat!! Remember, tickets are on sale for our 'Let the star's shine...again' evening on 21 September, last year was a lovely evening, lots of stories and memories shared.it was a beautiful sight with candles lit and gazebos adorned with lanterns and fairy lights. Here's hoping that the momentum of the weekend carries on during the rest of the week and more hounds get to find their forever homes. X

Gorgeous Sara and her sister Star came to visit us today. Sara looks fab! She is due to have the staples removed on Thursday after her recent operation to remove a piece of bone from her leg. She looks beautiful. Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

It was good to see a lot of our regular walkers today 🙂 It was nice weather for walking. Our two new girls Maggie and Elsa are settling well and enjoyed going out with the other Greyhounds. Xx Many thanks to Richard and Declan for doing a tip run for us and for clerarimg the car park at the back. Xx Thanks you to everyone who popped in with donations of bedding and for staying to meet the dogs and give them some extra fuss. :)) Xxx

We are so grateful to the lovely children who visited us yesterday and brought in donations of food and treats for our Daybreaks residents. They raised money by baking cakes and selling them! Then they went off to the supermarket to spend their hard earned cash on our beautiful dogs. There is a photo of them showing Robbie and Molly all the things they bought. Xxx
