So, how’s my tail? Well - I was a teeny bit naughty last night once mom and dad had turned the bedroom light off. I snook out to the lounge and pulled my protective tube off, it was really hard but I managed. I gave my tail a really good lick, had a drink and went back to bed. Took me lass than 3 minutes. Mom and TC noticed straight away what I hard done and mom re applied the tube. She told dad I’d licked off all the skin and I’d have to have the end amputated. She was right..... this morning the vet agreed and now it’s gone. I saw the bill and it seems I also had my teeth cleaned. Maybe it was a 2 for 1 deal. Didn’t notice any off it happening. Now I have to wear a strange blue thing on my head which I can’t see out off. I don’t like it but mom says it’s my own fault. At the moment I’m lying on the sofa dozing as mom strokes my shoulder. 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Jo was on Vet run duty this morning as it was Cindy's turn to go to be neutered. She was a bit on the wonky side when she was picked up this afternoon (see what I did there - on the wonkyside, haha!!!) and didn't want any supper. Hopefully she will be feeling more like her old self tomorrow. Pretty Penny was much brighter and ate all her meals today. We welcomed 3 work placement students from Solihull College today, they all quickly got stuck in learning the kennels routines and all said they had enjoyed their first day. The lovely weather and plenty of helpers, including volunteers from HSBC, meant the boys & girls could have 2 good walks - and all the health and weight checks were brought up to date. Big thanks for everyone's help today. This afternoon saw the lovely Wendy off to her new home - wishing her and her new family many happy times ahead. x I don't know where that week went to, cant believe its the weekend again already! We have some more of our residents heading home over the weekend, so lets hope that we also see some more red signs to take their place - my glass of white wine will be raised later with this in mind. Whatever you find yourself doing this weekend, enjoy the lovely weather. Cheers! Angie xx

Well it's Charlie my gorgeous boys 5th Gotcha Day! He's had a very rough year as some of you know, but at the moment everything is going well, so we are enjoying and making the most of every minute with him. He's got a bit more grey fur, but hes still my handsome loving sweet daft boy. 5 years on and it still feels like Christmas morning every morning I come downstairs to him. He is so so loved xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Penny went off to the vets first thing this morning for her neutering operation. She was such a good girl in the car, she lay down as soon as she got in and went to sleep. Xxx She was a very tired little girl When I picked her up to come back to the kennels. She didn't really want anything to eat. She is going home on Saturday, I know her new Mom is so excited to be adopting her. :)) The Chuckle Brothers were back together again and along with Lucy (the sensible one!) went off to the warehouse this morning. :). We had the pleasure of Paddy's company while Alan was out. He is such a gentleman. Xxx Thank you to everyone who helped with the walks today. Maisie was especially happy to be going out and made sure she was at the front of the pack! :)) We had more presents today! Thanks so much to the kind person who arranged for a delivery of Forthglade for our boys and girls. 🙂 Xxx

So today you had your third meet and you were awesome. Max still wanted to sniff but you both went on to do your own thing so soon ! You lay down in the living room with us despite that scary tv being on. A lovely just you and mommy walk until you saw daddy and wagging ensued cos you recognised him. You met your furless Nana and our lovely neighbours and a dog and you were such a good boy. Love you Grayson x

Dewey seems to be gaining in confidence every time I see her. She was interested in everything on her walk this afternoon. She was happy to walk with Willis, Elmer and Cleo. She's not bothered which dog or human she uses to try and get her muzzle off!!! Xxx

Please if you have an amazon account and could purchase something off our list, esp pilchards in tomato sauce or oil or tinned dog food, we would really be grateful, we always need stocks for our hounds waiting for their forever homes. Well Grayson you were fab when we brought you home for a quick visit yesterday. Auntie Kate had some excellent advice which we followed to the letter! And how right was she, you sniffed your brother and then went about your own business, need to work on inside as you haven't experienced this before. See you tomorrow to do it all again xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A bit of a damp gloomy start to the morning. We had two lovely college placement students start. I have to say they were very eager to learn, once shown the task of cleaning the kennels they got on with it, they were great. Many thanks as always to our regular Wednesday walkers, we were back up to a full crewe again. This afternoon was warm and sunny, we had unexpected volunteers which was fab, so along with our students all dogs had afternoon walks in the shade of the lane. It was lovely to see Emily our student from last academic year join us late morning. She, unfortunately couldn't get a placement with us this year, but as she finishes college early on Wednesdays she has decided to come in after and keep volunteering, (she continued to come in last year even though she had completed her 2nd year). A quiet day for visitors, we did have a lovely lady who is looking for a companion for her Springer spaniel. She went out on a couple of walks and we took a couple of dogs which may be suitable into the sand run. Next step, she is hopefully coming back with her dog and partner to see if we can match the right dog to the, basically seeing if her dog chooses someone! It's not always who the human chooses that the four legged friend picks. Half way through the week already, let's get some more reservations and homings on the go! 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

It was like Christmas at the kennels today! We had several parcels delivered which contained lots of lovely tins of fish for our residents. Thank you all so much. We didn't waste any time in using some of them and they all had Mackerel for dinner! :))) We had lots of help today so we were able to do morning and afternoon walks. It was great walking weather! I helped Lucy with her photography this afternoon. She was taking some final shots of some of the Trust dogs for next year's calendar. Let's say some of the models were easier to work with than others! Bless them :)) Can't wait to see the finished calendar, it's going to be great! Xxx

Myself Flloydy and the furry five enjoyed our chicken, pasta, parmesan and butter last night. I says I loves having Italian family and we loves our pasta, rice cheese and especially parmesan (only the fresh type of course) My mom makes a wicked proper Italian pasta dinner (my nanna is Italian, she says we are all too thin, but we are not we are all greyhound shaped)!!. Thank you to all for my gotcha day wishes. Xxx
