    I’m Homed

I practically had to swim to the kennels this morning - boy did it rain!!! Not surprisingly we were very short on volunteers so the boys & girls just had to make do with a "wee" trip to the feeding runs this morning! It meant that I could get on with the outstanding health checks and weight checks. The weather brightened a little which signalled an influx of visitors to use the run, have pampers, buy food and drop off very kind donations of bedding and items for our various fundraising ventures. Volunteers this afternoon meant the boys & girls could get out on walks, provided they dodged the showers!! The afternoon also saw the lovely Bell reserved, hooray, and pretty little Paige bounce off to her new home. Kennel mate Wendy looked a little confused as I checked on the doggies before home time, she was sitting all alone on the very big bed bless her. Hopefully we can find her another kennel mate to share with - but a forever sofa of her own would be even better. Its wine time but sadly this week I cannot partake as I am on antibiotics for a tooth abscess, shame!! However the wish is still the same when accompanied by a glass of lemonade - that today's homing momentum continues and some more of our lovely boys& girls find themselves their own forever homes. Have a lovely weekend one and all - stay dry!! Angie xx

Sue took Eric to the vets for the second part of his vaccination today. She said he was perfect travelling in the car and was happy to lie down on the waiting room floor on the vets until it was his turn to be seen. He really is a smashing, intelligent and happy lad, just waiting for that someone special to recognise his potential! Sending him my cuddle tonight. Xxx

We had a lot of visitors today. 🙂 Thanks so much to everyone for their donations of bedding and raffle prizes. Xx We had a visit from the very handsome Will, an ex-Daybreaks resident. He came in to have his nails clipped by Lucy and met some of our girls too! 🙂 We also had another gorgeous lad called Storm pop in with his family. Who also enjoyed meeting some of the girls. :)) You never know one of them may come back for a second look! Xx Many thanks to Alan and Richard for collecting collars/leads and muzzles for us today. A new venture for the Chuckle Brothers! :)) I'm sure you will agree the new photos of some of our residents proudly wearing their Pet Blood Bank bandanas are great...thanks Lucy. :)) Xx Thanks so much to everyone who helped out today. Xxx

    I’m Homed

A lovely warm dry day, all dogs had morning and afternoon walks. Thanks to our Wednesday walkers and our afternoon volunteers. We too had a tracker that decided to fly off over a fence! Paul managed to findit on the next walk. Thanks Paul for fighting your way through the rambles and stinging nettles, armed with two seaside spades!! Thanks to everyone who came in with donations of bedding, fish and items for our donation table. It is very much appreciated. If you can spare some tins of fish (in oil or tomato) or tins or trays of dog food our residents would be very grateful. It nice to see Ruth's little strips pants Tig, she spent the day in the office, she is currently having a little holiday with Denise and her Charlie whilst Ruth starts her recovery. Lots of lovely dogs are patiently waiting for their forever homes. Annie and Eric are currently our longest stayes. If you are tempted by any of our beautiful hounds, give us a call and pop in for a look, you never know......

  • Dewey (Dew)

    I’m Homed

Just looked at her data and she's half sister to our Skip! That being said, Vans Escalade was a prolific sire and has many offspring! We were discussing this on a greyhound forum yesterday (Retired Greyhound Chat). There were a lot of posts from people whose greys' Dad was Vans Escalade. Dewey is such a sweetie. She was really shy when we took her into the sand run a few weeks ago. I walked her on Sunday and she walked beautifully. She even walked independently from Willis some of the time although it's evident she adores him and homing them together would be amazing. Fingers crossed that won't be long. x

Happy birthday for yesterday Ruby Rebel. Sounds like you had a fab day. I thought it was only Skip and Sam who "found" treats in the office 😮

No stopping Eric yesterday. Despite a tremendous downpour, he walked happily along (now much easier on the lead) and loves being out and about.

    I’m Homed

Ruby Rebel 5th birthday meant 4 walks yesterday. Did breakfast walk as normal, then went to Daybreak's to for 2 more walks, then finished with a park walk with furfriend Floss. At the kennels Ruby walked with Ringo and then HoneyG. As an experienced ex-resident, he sensed the weather and missed the rain downpaw, spending fun time in the office instead.
