I stole a pen! Unfortunately I was caught before I got to the exciting bit! It just has a crack in it now! The hoomans heard me crunching on something and ran into the room. Which meant the tasty looking pen was taken off me. Very disappointed. The slaves say I act like a puppy. They still love me for it!

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Jo had an early start this morning taking Elsa to the Vets to be speyed. I had a phone call from her a little while later to say she was stranded at the Vets as her car wouldn't start!! She then spent a very exciting couple of hours at the roadside waiting for the AA man to arrive!! Fortunately it was nothing serious and she was back with us without too much hassle - phew! The doggies had morning walks and afternoon sand run playtime today - many thanks for everyone's help. The sun did show its face a few times but the wind kept us all cool. I met our new trio of Ben, Cleo and Wonky. Poor Wonky and Cleo are still a little unsure about their surroundings, but Ben is a bold, confident lad who runs at life head on!! There were plenty of heath checks to keep me busy during the day, and Wendy is a little star in this respect. She stands beautifully still to be weighed and have her teeth cleaned. Mr & Mrs Dewey and Willis went into the treatment room together as Dewey didn't want to go anywhere without her hubby!!! This morning saw the pretty little Maggie off to her new home, wishing her and her new Mum many happy years ahead. Elsa was a wobbly little girl when she came back from the Vet this evening and wanted nothing more than to lie down on her comfy low bed, bless her. Hoping she feels a lot better in the morning. Just a reminder that tickets for the Let the Stars Shine Again remembrance evening are available from the kennels. We are delighted that Ruth will be able to join us for the evening, it will be great to see her back in the kennels - albeit for a couple of hours! I know that now she is feeling a little better she is keen to get immersed in kennel life again, we all wish her a speedy recovery and hope she is back to full strength very soon. x Well can you believe it's the weekend again?! We have a roadshow at the Blue Cross Fete in Bromsgrove on Saturday if you are in the area, and with viewings booked, I will raise my glass of rather nice red wine in a toast to our boys & girls - may they be lucky enough to find their special someone this weekend. Well mom has been doing some research and it appears that there is something called a ‘Dun Brindle’ colour which runs through the Rocket Jet line. Rocket Jet is 9 generations back in my family tree on my birth moms line, got mom wondering...??..... Florence xxx

Mom was out all day last night which meant I was with daddy and Samantha. Samantha also disappeared for a bit then came back I was very happy to see her! Then mom finally returned! She said she brought something for me. Samantha asked if it was another Greyhound. Unfortunately it wasn’t. I could already tell what it was as I had my head in the bag the whole time until she got out my present! It was the best present ever! Sausages!!! Boy I love food but my favourite it sausages! I nearly ripped the whole bag up before she had a chance to give them to me! He he! Barney Xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Richard decided he had had enough of the messy pile of duvets and pillows in the back kennel today! He, Shirley and Kara spent a good couple of hours sorting them all out. Shirley also changed the dog beds in the back kitchen that is normally occupied by volunteers pet dogs. The new photo shows them all having to set up home in the run while the beds were sorted. They were so good...all that was missing were the cocktails! :)) Thanks so much, it looks so much tidier now! Xx Thanks too to Alan and Declan for making a trip to the warehouse this morning. :)) and of course thanks Alan for the donuts! :)) i met our latest new arrivals today, Cleo and Wonky both very pretty girls, nothing wonky about either of them. 🙂 Lucy has taken some great new photos of them both. We are expecting a new lad to arrive on Saturday. :)) Thanks to everyone for their help today. Xxx

Hello, mom wants me to ask if anyone else has had a greyhound that changed colour? I was black but now I have brown go faster stripes, a brown leg and a ginger butt - can’t see it myself. So please if anyone can help she’d be very grateful. Lubs to all. Florence xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Who is the proudest Daddy??? I AM!! It has been wonderful getting to know my son Fergal again and teaching him that being part of a loving family, even if we are not the richest, is the BESTEST. I am very proud of how brave he has been and I am also very proud of my brother Teddy who has welcomed him into our home with open paws! Over to Fergal now for his say. Hello everybody, I have now been with Daddy & Granny 2.5 weeks and have been learning fast. I soon settled down when I realised I would be eating lots of yummy things very regularly. I love my food and Granny has been treating me to many different and home cooked meals to see what are my favourite foods. So far everything is!! I had my dental just over a week ago and had to have 12 teeth out but I recovered very quickly and less teeth has not interfered with my enjoyment when it comes to food! I am naughty if Granny goes out and leaves anything around. I enjoy finding new bags of yummies and ripping them apart to see what is inside. Granny doesnt think thats funny so I get the evil eye and a no cuddle for you my lad. Hee hee I still know she loves me really. She just needs to remember to lock things away. I love cuddling up to Daddy on the sofa and he lets me snuggle into his bum. I sleep next to Granny at night & sometimes snuggle into her armpit. Teddy very generously offered to give up his place for me & he now sleeps in a special bed next to our big bed but in the morning I am happy to swop with him so he can have cuddles with Granny too. Teddy also loves washing my paws and tummy so I am quite spoiled for attention. We also often cuddle up together. I have learned my new routine very quickly and love my new name. I answer to it very quickly. I feel much happier and everyone says I look better although I still have a way to go to get my weight up but I have put on half a kilo so that is a positive start. Granny has discovered that our houseguest yesterday, Dessy, is related to Daddy....he is a 3rd or 4th cousin she thinks. Something to do with Daddy's great grandfather Head Honcho. He does look like Daddy. Dessy is coming again to see us next week so I will hopefully be a little less shy as I get to know him. Thank you to everyone who has been asking how I am doing. I appreciate it. Well, it is 7.20pm so time now for a small supper before some more sleepies. I wonder if I will always be fed 4 times a day????? Xxx

Maisie walks nicely on her lead. She is very interested in everything going on around her, from blowing crips packets to mowing machines. She does listen to a 'leave it' . She was very well behaved when walking alongside Cleo. Lovely girl xxxxx

Was greeted by a wagging tail when I went to take this elegant, dainty, adorable girl for her afternoon walk. She took the noise of the Coventry Road in her stride, walked on a slack lead and adjusted her speed to my my walking pace occassionaly looking up at me. She even waited while I re-tied my shoelace. What a fantastic hound!! Massive big cuddles for her xxxx
