2019 Daybreaks Diary!

We had a busy day with several viewings. A couple of which were very promising. Fingers crossed. 🙂 Good walking weather and we had lots of walkers so our residents got two walks today. Many thanks to everyone who came in to help today, lovely to see our Gloria back! We missed you. 🙂 Xxx

Charisma is such an affectionate little girl. She came with me to Elmdon Park today. She jumped in the car happily and settled really well. Once at the park, she was very happy to meet all different breeds of dogs. She greeted them all politely and if they just wanted to walk past, that didn't bother her either. If a dog runs away from her, she tends to understand that as an invitation to play, so she was disappointed on a few occasions. She loves people and was a real pleasure to take out. Good luck in your new home little lady xx

Annie didn’t like meeting my dogs today she was not impressed at all but never mind she will still have her love when I’m in on a Monday and a Thursday

Ringo

When we visited the kennels Friday we had the pleasure of spending some time with Ringo. We ultimately after much difficult deliberation decided to rehome Betty. But it was a close run thing. Ringo is a lovely, licky, affectionate playful boy with a cheeky charachter and was fine with our two kids aged 9 and 13. Hope he finds his sofa really soon.

After loosing Topsy we were looking for someone to fill the hound shaped hole in our home. We met several hounds today, and after much deliberating between Ringo, Belle and Betty we decided she was the best ballance and needed a home the most. The other two are beautiful hounds (Ringo is a real charachter) so Im sure they won't be at Daybreaks long. Been looking into her medication needs and her condition ready. I hope she is happy with us - home check is tommorow.

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

After a cloudy start today turned into a bit of a scorcher! We were very short on volunteers this morning so doggies couldn't go out for a walk, but as it had got quite warm by then I don't think they were too bothered. And after a very quiet start - the day went absolutely mad!! We had plenty of visitors to use the run, buy food, have nail clipping, make donations of bedding and - best of all - a viewing which resulted in the lovely Betty being reserved, yay! x I met the very handsome and friendly Ringo today, he is lovely and while I was doing my prior to going home checks this evening, I spotted him lying upside down with his legs in the air! Quite a few of our boys & girls were lying on the cool stone floors, and we left the fans on to keep them cool overnight. Ah, the vagaries of the British climate!! Well, I cant believe it's the weekend again, and as Kate said yesterday, it's August too - just where is the time going? It is a definite chilled white wine kind of evening, so I will raise my glass and toast our beautiful boys & girls - all so lovely and all waiting so patiently for their chance to show what a great addition to a family they would make. Don't forget tickets for Let The Stars Shine Again are on sale now. I know the event is in September, but I hate to remind you - that is next month!! It will be a lovely evening where we remember friends both 2 & 4 legged who are no longer with us but are always in our hearts. You can light a candle in their memory and tuck into a jacket potato whilst chatting and sharing stories and precious memories. Have a lovely weekend one and all - cheers! Angie xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A strange day with hot sunshine one minute and torrential rain the next! Thanks to everyone who came in to walk the dogs. They all enjoyed two walks. Alan and Declan did a warehouse run for us while Richard did more repairs around the kennels. 🙂 We saw little Cara today as Shirley and Richard are looking after her while her family are away on holiday. She looks fantastic with a lovely shiny coat! Can't believe it's August already...where does the time go!? If you are looking for something special to do during the summer, why not give a Greyhound their forever home! :))) Xxx
