2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
A whirlwind and rollercoaster of a day today. Difficult to know where to start. Very quiet for volunteers, extremely busy for visitors. Murphy proved to be very popular. There were three offers of a foster home for him this morning. He is now with his dad and foster brother, thanks to Sirenmelody for taking him home for some very much needed TLC. We had two homings, lovely Charisma now Indie and handsome Ringo, good luck to both of them and their families. We had two dogs reserved, Robbie and our second longest stayer Eric. They have both waited so patiently. Hoping all goes well for them both and their prospective families. This leaves Annie as our current longest stayer, please someone give her a chance, she keeps being overlooked and must be confused at being given a new kennel mate when her partner goes home. There were another couple of viewings, one looks very promising, won't say who just yet, keep an eye out for an update!! We also had two new arrivals, apologies as I was unable to get them fully processed and put on the website. They will be on here tomorrow. So after a very quiet period for homings things seem to be looking up. Never mind a nice glass of wine, after today (in a good way), I think it may call for several and a takeaway!!!

Thk you shanishoo. I have shed buckets since yesterday but am now putting the stress behind me & am just so relieved to have him home. His new stepbrother is currently washing his tummy!!! He has taken nicely to the sofa!! And I am going to feed little & often so hopefully we will get weight on in the next couple of werks. He will have to have vets visits & a dental when strong enough but please god he will be strong enough for it all. RIP Peggy...always remembered. We are all going to stay positive and be thankful for all that we have. X

Oh my goodness, such a happy story but so sad at the same time, tears flowing!!!, thank you so much for taking this wonderful boy into your loving home and care, any yes I think he is where he belongs, I too feel so angry but now so positive that he is with you all, what a truly wonderful person you are, and so are all the lovely people at Daybreaks who just never give up, thank you, thank you. Thank you to all for your concern. After a sleepless night & a few conversations my grandboy is now where he should be....with blood family. His Father was delighted to see him again & his stepbrother welcomed him with his usual big smile, tail wags & licks. Patience, love & kindness as well as regular food are what is needed now. There is no point in my describing my bitterness as it would not be printable. I have to live with the fact that I didnt take him 3 years ago & that guilt will stay for a very long time so that is my punishment. I didnt because I felt it would have been wrong to choose out of my 5 that came in from the track & there was no way I could afford 5 more mouths to feed. I am confident he will enjoy being with his Father & Teddy & I will be working hard with the support of my wonderful colleagues & volunteers at DB to ensure no one feels pushed out. I do believe in fate & feel that my lovely girl Bell was reserved this week because someone up above knew that I was going to be needed elsewhere for a higher priority. My profuse apologies to Jane who was going to foster him but I just dont feel under the circumstances I can take the risk of letting him out of my sight. I believe she is interested in Eric & that will be wonderful if that match goes ahead. He has waited very patiently & is such a lovely boy. As I sign off my lad is asleep on the sofa next to me with his Father on the other side of me. A happy Sunday after all.

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

We had several viewings today 🙂 and lots of visitors. 🙂 Most of the residents enjoyed the extra attention, but Dewey was a little overwhelmed and retreated to the corner of her kennel and kept out of the way. 🙁 Bless her. Many thanks to Dave and Stacey who walked all the dogs between them this morning and to Dave (again!) Jan and Jess, who walked all the dogs this afternoon. :)) Sure they are all fast sleep by now! It was sad to see Murphy back at the kennels but I'm sure a fabulous home is waiting for him. Hopefully with someone who will be around more to help him with his anxieties. Xx Xxx
