2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A very quiet morning, just Bella and myself cleaning and feeding. We had 3 reinforcements late morning. Some dogs had sand run fun and the rest had a cool walk. This afternoon it was grooming time before everyone left and left myself and Bella to feed and clean the runs. There was interest in a couple of dogs, do fingers crossed. Little Hugo, a seven month old Italian greyhound came to use the sand run. Beck, could the little dog run! He is such a little cutie. If you would like to book the sand run, just give us a call, it is greyt. X

Can I take this opportunity to say a big thank you to everyone who came along to Daybreaks in cabaret last night. As our last major stage show, we wanted to go out on a high - and we absolutely did!! It was an amazing night, the cast did me proud, they were magnificent. The audience were fabulous, the atmosphere was brilliant and the cast rose to the occasion. Many thanks too to Ina for her lovely food, just right for a lovely Summer evening. Your generous support for our evening raised the incredible sum of £1439.55 - THANK YOU. 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A much cooler day...and it rained!! 🙂 Molly arrived today, what a sweet little girls she is. She is understandably a little stressed to find herself in new surroundings. We have paired her up with our other new little girl Charisma and hope they can help each other. Xx Thanks so much to Liz for taking new lad Tommy out for a trip to the park this afternoon. 🙂 We were a little short on help this morning, thanks so much to Dave and Lauren for doing lots of walks...Jess helped out between bathings and even I got the chance to walk our long term resident Annie. :)) She really is a super girl, sure there must be a home out there with her name on the door! Xx We didn't have any viewings for our beautiful Daybreaks residents today. :(( If you are currently looking for someone new to join your family please come and visit our boys and girls at the kennels. They really are the most wonderful dogs. Xxx Thanks so much to everyone for your help today. Xxx

Tommy

Gorgeous Tommy came to Brueton Park with me today. It was very exciting for him and he did have trouble keeping a straight line when walking! He did however enjoy zigzagging along the path, taking in all the sights, sounds and smells. We met a few dogs and he was quite interested in them, but it was his first trip out. He is a very handsome boy and drew attention from various people. He stood and accepted fuss from adults and children. He isn't too sure at all about getting in the car but does settle down once you get him safely in there!! His enthusiasm is endearing and he was a pleasure to take out. Good luck handsome boy xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

As Angie has said, all doggies had a lovely cool down with the lovely hose attachment. When we got to Maisie, I was delegated to go in and hose her down (I didn't tell anyone she had already tried it and loved it). She was fantastic and had a good play, When I dried her down she absolutely loved it. Such a special girl.xxxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

It was another hot & sunny Daybreaks day today! The doggies had a short walk down the shady lane first thing, all sporting their very fetching and very beneficial cool coats. My first task was to get a photo of Eric for my phone screensaver - well, it's worked in the past so you never know! Mid morning saw the arrival of our 2 new family members, Tommy & Charisma. Charisma is such a friendly, waggy tailed girl who will insist on trying to give you a kiss no matter what you are trying to do - makes cutting nails and cleaning ears very interesting!! She was a little unsure in the bath and did try to sit down once or twice, but with some gentle encouragement she eventually stood beautifully with her head over my shoulder whilst Chris gave her a lovely bath. She is a solid girl with the most beautiful eyes and face - think I am smitten already! Tommy is a big boy who is just a bit unsure of things at the moment, although he is very friendly. He was a good boy in the bath too but, unlike Charisma, he didn't want to eat his dinner bless him. It was far too hot to walk this afternoon so we treated all the inmates to some time at the doggy spa!! We fitted an attachment to the hosepipe which sprayed a lovely gentle mist of cool water over them, some were a little unsure at first but when they felt the cooling water they were more than happy to stand still! They then had a couple of sausages as treats before returning to their kennels - an enjoyable experience for both the doggies and the humans too. Many thanks to those who came along to help out today, much appreciated. Well the weekend is upon us again and a busy one it is too. We have another new arrival coming tomorrow and our show Daybreaks in cabaret is tomorrow night and is a sell out - I am delighted. The cast have been working hard to put together a great show - just hope it is a little cooler tomorrow evening or they will melt away under the stage lights!! All proceeds raised from the evening will go to Daybreaks Trust to help fund the ongoing improvements at the kennels. As you can probably imagine as I type this post, a bottle of white wine is chilling in the fridge. I will raise my glass later to all our beauties waiting for their forever homes - may their sofas be just around the corner. Have a great weekend one and all - cheers! Angie xx
