Annie came to Elmdon Park with me today. She was a bit nervous about getting in the car initially but managed it no problems in the way back. She loves being out and is interested in everything. She needs more outings into the big wide world as she does get quite excited when she sees other dogs. However, as they say, practice makes perfect. She enjoys a good fuss and seems to get on really well with her kennel mate Blossom. Good luck little girl x

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

An early start for Jo as she took pretty little Molly to the Vet to be speyed - think we have our own chair in the waiting room now the amount of time we spend at the Vets, lol!! We were joined today by 2 volunteers from HSBC who got stuck in doing feeding, walks and health checks. They both fell in love with our residents and were very complimentary about the kennels and the work we do there. They said they had a great day - and will spread the word about Greyhounds! Wendy was fine today and she and her kennel mate and best friend Paige are now both sporting lovely yellow post-op bandanas - and looked on forlornly as the others went out on walks! Thanks to everyone who helped out today, the boys & girls could have 2 nice walks as it wasn't too hot - in fact it even sprinkled with rain once! I did take the opportunity to take my mate Robbie into the sand run for some playtime this afternoon. He is a little star, runs and plays beautifully then comes back to you when he's ready to go back to his bed! Such a shame there has been no interest in him yet. It was very quiet for visitors so we got the chance to spend a bit of individual time in with the doggies - I think they enjoyed it as much as we did. So nice to just have some one on one time to get to know the dog and give him some undivided attention. Dessy enjoyed it so much he actually fell asleep lying on Chris!! So lovely to see Billy's sign changed to reserved, he has a lovely new home and a lovely new name - congratulations one and all, a happy ending. x Tickets for our remembrance evening "Let the Stars Shine Again" are now on sale at the kennels. We had a lovely time last year, it is not a sad evening but one where we get together to chat about happy memories, swap funny stories and remember hounds & friends no longer with us. We hope to see many of you there. Well, another week has flown by and its time again for my weekend toast - I raise a nice glass of chilled white wine to our boys & girls and hope that they all find their special forever homes very soon. 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Another trip to the vet today, this time with Wendy for her neutering operation. She also five teeth removed and a small wart type growth removed form one of her front feet. Poor little Lass was quite wobbly on her return to the kennels. I had the pleasure of going for a walk with Blossom this morning. She is a very lively and bouncy young lady but walks beautifully on the lead. 🙂 Eddie came to visit us and use the sand run. He is such a happy lad! We also had a visit from Ashley. He had come in to have a pamper with Lucy. He smelt lovely when he left. :))) It was good to see Ruth at the kennels this morning :)) and Declan too :)) Thanks so much to everyone for their help today. Xxx
