A big cuddle for little Annie tonight. She has been with us since February waiting for her forever home. She is a happy little soul and great friends with kennel mate Thena 🙂 She was too nervous to donate blood yesterday; the noise of the hair clippers frightened her. 🙁 She needs a lovely family who can help her with the big wide world. Xxx

Thena was such a good girl when she donated blood yesterday. All the nurses from the Pet Blood Bank fell in love with her and couldn't understand why she is still waiting for her forever home. Hope she doesn't have to wait too much longer for that special someone to come along. Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Wow what a busy day!!!! 5 fabulous volunteers from HSBC and I promise I didn't bribe them with regard to their comment below!!! We have a busy day tomorrow with Susie and Bolt going in for neutering and Eric for this vaccination as well as Eric for a stitch to be removed from his recent dental. I had a call from Fivelands who said that Sara needs a CT scan as the x-ray shows a fragment within her leg and needs further investigation to find out what is going on. This is going to be organised for Worcester and hopefully it will be done soon - we will keep you updated. All donations made to the Greyhound Trust enable us to fund her treatment so we are extremely grateful to all those who support us 🙂

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

HSBC volunteering day: We started off the day with seeing how well the new arrivals got on with the resident cat's. We did some doggy therapy on Sara to make her little leg better and we put Susie in with Eric to start and blossoming new doggy friendship!! We assisted with the regular doggy health checks and pedicures, brushing teeth with meaty toothpaste and giving them and Aloe Vera fur treatment!! We played ball with Eric on the sand run and watched him enjoy playing with all the toys!! We cleaned and changed all the bedding and water in all of the doggy parlours and updated their records. We took them on their daily afternoon stroll and feed them their scrummy lunch with the help and guidance of all the great volunteers and the amazing kennels manager Ruth. These dogs are so well cared for and the facilities here are excellent. All of these beautiful dogs deserve a great home where they are treated as well as they are here at Daybreaks. All donations help greatly. Thanks for having us and we look forward to coming back to do it all again!!!

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A very busy day at Daybreaks with the Pet Blood Bank visiting..... our brave donors today were Thena, Queen, Buster, Treaty and Eric as well as many visiting previous ex-residents. I took Sara the stray to the vets today and x-rays showed that she needs a CT scan on her leg which will be arranged in due course. She is such a sweet girl and was so brave at the vets. We had in the post a lovely donation of Chilly Dog handmade wool dog sweaters - they are absolutely gorgeous and Tigger modelled one - it was quickly removed before she decided to chew it!!!! These will be available at our Daybreaks Birthday open day on the 30th June. It is time to go home as I have rehearsals tonight! The show is getting closer.... eeek!!!! Tickets are available if you are interested.... just give us a call at the kennels.....

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A funny old day, Monday is not my usual working day. It started with very few of us in, but gradually we had more wonderful volunteers come in so dogs got morning and afternoon walks. There were no bookings for the sand run to begin with, but then it went crazy, it was as if everyone had the same idea to wear their hounds out! Eric had a blast, whilst my Arry didn't even break into a trot!! Remember, this is available for use by any breed of dog, not just greys. We had visits from little Cara, Skip and recently homed brother Sam, he is doing great and not forgetting Ash who came along with an injured tail! Homings for Queen, Debs (now Brie) and Brian (now Ivern). So a busy day all in all. Thanks so very much for donations of fish, bedding, toys and dog coats. Thanks so much for everyone's help today, really appreciate you all coming in, oh and I thought it was flaming cold, trying to warm my feet up still. Heres hoping for a sucessfull week ahead. X
