    I’m Homed

The weather couldn't make it's mind up today, that was until this afternoon when it decided to rain! Thanks as always to our Wednesday walkers, and we had a couple of extra volunteers too, thanks to them also. I spoke to Willis's mom, he is doing really well, apart from not wanting to get out of the car. I normally find it's getting them in that is the problem! Fairly quiet for visitors, little Scarlet came in for a pamper with Jess, she too has settled well. Harry is getting very brave, he is such a lovely boy, I did try and convince Reggies dad that they would make a lovely matching pair, not sure that worked! I brought 2 of my hounds in, Arry, who has settled in brilliantly, he is such a good boy and gummy bear Max. Max had a dental last week and sadly has not a tooth left in his head bless him. We are getting ever closer to our 13th Birthday party, this is being held on 30th of June at the kennels. We will have picnic bags and games for both humans and dogs. Please come along and help us celebrate, we are keeping our fingers crossed that the weather will be as kind as it was last year. We will post more info nearer the time.

I wonder if Busters new mum was the lovely lady Sue and I were talking to at Pets and Home Stratford, she was looking for a slightly older dog and we were singing his praises.

    I’m Homed

After a busy day yesterday it has been much quieter at Daybreaks! Thanks go to our fabulous volunteer team who cleaned and fed the inmates whilst I started the day off with a trip to Fivelands to take Honey G for her spey. Following a viewing yesterday, the family came back today and reserved Buster - we are over the moon as he is a fabulous boy and he is off to his new home in a couple of weeks. Harry is getting braver every day and was brilliant for Shirley who did his health check along with Bocko. Again, thanks to our volunteer walkers who came along to give our residents a walk and Buster got to spend some time in the sand run as well too. Belle moved kennel yesterday and is now sharing with Eric and being less grumpy and learning to share. She is definitely happier with company. Tig is continuing to do really well since her operation a week ago and is letting me clean her pins without fuss now.... she is such a brave girl. I am off to rehearsals tonight and with our show next month we are just polishing off our acts! If you would like to come along, there are still tickets available. Money raised from the ticket sales is supporting Daybreaks Trust and we are hoping to raise enough for the new fire alarm system we are looking at installing at the kennels so your support means a lot. Thanks so much, Ruth x

Happy 1st gotcha day to our boy Ash who came into Daybreaks having been sold on gumtree! and we became failed foster parents. It's been a challenging year! The funniest was his reaction to seeing the sea for the first time. Treats in store my lovely boy. Xxx

Hi Sharon83 - You can also try Harrington’s or James wellbeloved they are both wheat/grain free. However not 100% sure on prices. Fetch is a good website to buy food from and there are usually discount codes available x

Omg, Harry you are breaking my heart, you look so sad and scared, just want to give you a cuddle, I hope you find the perfect home with possibly another kind but confident grey to show you that you are safe and you will be OK, you just need somebody to be patient and loving and I am sure you will then flourish and be a happy Harry. Good luck sweetheart xxxxxx

The adorable Honey G is super excited when she sees the lead, but once she's got it on she settles and walks very nicely. Xxxx

    I’m Homed

Eric was very well behaved on his lead this afternoon. Even with his muzzle on he managed to snaffle a toy through the bars of his run he was very reluctant to release it, which wouldn't usually matter but he's sharing with two girlies and we didn't want to risk toy envy!!! Xxx
