I’ve had the same problem!! I am now giving Duck and potato by Burns Maisie and Monty seem to like it atm

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Just wondered if anybody out there can offer me any advise please, we feed our two boys on Burns pork & potatoe sensitive have done for years but the last few months they are just picking at it, I always put something in with it, pilchards, chicken, mince beef, but they are still leaving fair amounts of it, I have noticed that sometimes the biscuits soften quite easily when water is added and other times you can get a bag where they take ages to soften, no bags are the same. Not sure what else to feed as our old boy is very fussy and we need to keep the protein low for our two year old, he doesn't need any more energy than he already has lol, can anybody please help? Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

So my mom and i went to put our grand national bets on today (i will admit i am a total hypocrite as i dont believe in racing but always blooming bet on the national so i do frown upon myself for it) and they were showing the greyhound racing as well and i was like can you believe our jetsy used to do that (i say that half heartedly if his form and number of races are anything to go by) and now look at him, chilled as ever, lazy but so happy its a total different world. My mom got quite upset because shes so in love with him shes like how could he have had that life (not saying he had a bad one) when you look at him now and the life he now has and they're worlds apart? He'd have a nervous breakdown if he went back to that lol! But made me think, their worlds are so different is it any wonder it takes some of these girls and boys a little bit longer to settle into a homelife? But also means that after all the hard work they've done, my word don't they all deserve that second chance? Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Ok, who stole Spring?!?! Another cold, grey and dreary day - but at least it stayed dry so our boys and girls could get out for 2 lovely walks. We had volunteers a plenty today, so walks had to be done on a rota basis, lol!!! Many thanks to everyone who came along to help out today - much appreciated. This morning saw the handsome Sam off to his new home, wishing him and his new family many happy years ahead. It was a vey quiet day for visitors, so we managed to get all the health checks done and some more general cleaning and tidying. Just a reminder that raffle tickets for our grand Easter draw are on sale at the kennels at £1 each. There are 5 amazing prizes up for grabs - definitely worth having a go with so much chocolatey goodness on offer!! I may have purchased a ticket or two!! Tickets for our stage show Daybreaks in cabaret are also on sale at the kennels. It will be a great night out, and also the last show of this nature that we will be able to put on so why not come along and help us bow out with a bang!! Enough shameless promotion - let's get down to the real Friday night business of raising a glass (or 2!) and wishing for forever homes for our beautiful boys & girls. Have a great weekend one and all, and if you have a spare minute why not pop along to Notcutts Garden Centre to catch some of our volunteers and their dogs - and there will be a guest appearance by the lovely Hector if anyone would like to meet him.
