Bobby has had an amazing night.... he slept well apart from when he found my work bag which had got the broken big bone biscuits I’d brought home for Tig and Lisa! The whole lounge was covered in crumbs so I can declare he doesn’t hoover!!!! He seemed very pleased with himself with lots of tail wagging! Once I’d got all the crumbs from my bare feet he toileted outside and happily went back to bed... it was quite strange that the candle we lit for his owner was still alight when I got up for him but had gone out by the time I came back to bed.... I’m sure his mum was happy he was ok x

Like Jetlucy, shedding a tear. What a sad situation especially as Bobby goes towards his twilight years. This situation will arise for many of us I guess as we age or sadly fall ill. I absolutely dread the thought of not having a dog in very old age but I also dread the thought of leaving one behind. My thoughts go out to any family this lady might have and I pray Bobby wont succumb to a broken heart. Remember Greyfriars Bobby for those of us from a certain generation who will have read the book. Thank God when ex residents find themselves in this situation they can at least come back to the love and care of Daybreaks. A small comfort for them in their hour of confusion and sadness but nevertheless a comfort. It is all just so very sad.

We have had the very sad news today that Toby (was Kenny) sadly passed to Rainbow Bridge today after a long illness, which he fought very hard. Much love goes to Sarah and Steve who tried everything... Sarah asked for his record to be updated and a latest picture of him put on his records... Run Free Toby, you will be missed by us all... Xxxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
A busy day especially for Jess; she had several clients for pampers and nail clipping. Bobby, Kitty's brother was really not happy with the hair dryer and Seren was not impressed when her Dad and Sister took Velvet for a walk while she was having a bath! :)) Ruth's corn clinic was busy too! It was great to see lots of previous Daybreaks residents today either having a bath, a corn removed, nails clipped or having fun in the sand run! :))) This afternoon Ruth and Jayne got to work on sorting out the new kitchen and the back treatment room...moving lockers and steel cupboards...I managed to go out on a walk with the very lovely and handsome Treaty! He walks so well on the lead and is a pleasure to be with. 🙂 Freddie managed to wag his tail so much he split it! :(( Thanks to Jess for dressing it for him. He just couldn't help it as he is such a happy boy!! It was good to see Sara at the kennels again, even with her broken bits and pieces she still managed to help with cleaning the new kitchen. :)) Thanks so much to everyone for their help today. :)) Thinking of Bobby tonight. So glad he is staying with Ruth & Andy and not on his own. God Bless his owner, June; Rest in peace. Xxx

It was with great sadness I received a call late this afternoon to tell me Bobby’s owner had passed away. I have therefore been to collect Bobby and thankfully he is not too stressed and has settled well at our house. Many of us at the kennels knew his owner and we are all deeply upset.... she was a fabulous character! Bobby - we will light a candle for your mum tonight.... she loved you so much xxx
