So glad Stanley's foster family over Christmas where so impressed by this big Black beauty, that they keep putting forward his many good attributes, and I am sure when he finds his forever home his new family will update that list. A perfect weekend would be for all the longest stayers (there are a few at the moment, all with great foster reports) to be reserved. However I also still believe in fairies so not holding my breath lol. When we had our first 2 Greys we went to the kennels and said we want the longest residents, that's all our criteria was. Izzy & Dylan had both been there 1 year. The reason? They were Black and 6 years old, and didn't sell themselves. They both turned out to be amazing hounds and the love of our lives and are still greatly missed. They started our love story with the breed and I hope and pray that all the black beauties at Daybreak's will soon be doing the same for some lucky families out there. Then my faith in fairies will be rewarded lol xx

Hello. I'm Skip and it's my 5th burfday today. My hoomans bought me a hoctopus cuddly. I luvs it. I've had yummy treats and tuna. My bruvva Bert is pawly so I've tried to be a good boy and not tread on him while playing with my hoctopus. We's got some new weird stuff in the back garden today. Mummy hooman says is artifishul grass coz we ruin grass when we wee. It felt funny under my feet and I did zoomies then tried to eat it. I thought it was a big cuddly for me to play with. Daddy hooman took me to the woods for a walk this morning. I'm tired now. Goodnight everyone.....zzzzzzzzzzz. Luvs Skip.

  • 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

    I’m Homed

It was an early start to the day for Jo as she took the lovely Bubba to the Vets to be neutered. Apparently the staff at the vets fell head over heels in love with this very handsome boy! It was a chilly day but thankfully none of the promised sleet came our way, and the doggies had a blast in the sand run to keep warm this morning. Plenty of volunteers this afternoon meant they could go out for a lovely walk, everyone was well wrapped up against the wind! I spent a bit of time in with Treaty this morning, and was given so many kisses that I wont need to wash my face for a week!!! Our latest new arrivals are a super trio, and such contrasting characters. Fairey is a lively little girl who loves to" bounce" you to get kisses, and can certainly jump when she spots a food bowl! Genie is still a little shy and reserved, and made us laugh today when Rocky her kennel mate claimed the low bed. Instead of jumping up onto the big bed, she tried to squash herself onto the corner of the bed Rocky was on, perching in a sitting up position right on the edge!!! She obviously likes to be close to him bless her. Frankie is quite a busy boy who make himself heard if he hasn't seen you for a while!! You have just got to love them all haven't you? x Thanks for everyone's help today, and as the weekend approaches yet again I will raise my glass to wish for homes for our boys & girls. Angie xx

Oh it’s too exciting! Florence is here with Auntie Klaire. As soon as she came we had to do our favourite game of musical beds! Great fun. Can’t wait for tomorrow when we go to the run. I won’t actually run but I’ll have fun watching Florence. I do hope Flloyd and his family can come along too it will be great to see them again. We will go for a walk soon and have dinner. So exciting! Barney Xx

So myself and Boss took a little trip in the car down to Fivelands so he could be neutered. We wandered onto the lane, before placing his front legs in the boot ( needed a bit of help to get in), he soon settled down and is very good traveller. He was very happy to wander into the vets said hello to all the staff. I went to pick him up later, you wouldnt even has know he’d been under GA he trotted out and back to the car x

Genie really didn’t enjoy her bath... gave everyone the stink eye - haha. But she was soon back to her happy self once she was back in the kennels. She’s currently paired with Rocky xx

I know I've already commented twice but just wanted to add as I fostered him over the new year he wasn't at all bothered by fireworks so there's another plus to his already long list of plus's

Jetlucy - land of standing is where they are currently. So many Irish dogs are born in Ireland and brought over to England to race x

Great to see Honey reserved today :))...please don't let Jetson have to find another kennel mate. Wish he could find his forever home too. 🙁 The boys are just as lovely as the girls. I have two boys who are absolutely adorable. If you are thinking of adopting a Greyhound please give our boys a chance. Xxx
