Thanks so much to Norman for taking Stan to the park this morning. Stan is fantastic lad, he is in the first kennel by the door and he greets you with a very happy bark and waggy tail. He is tall, dark, very handsome and loves a cuddle! Xxx

Ruth and I took kennel mates Honey and Jetson to the vets first thing this morning. Honey for her neutering operation and Jetson for a dental. They are such a lovely couple, looking out for each other. They were both great when they met a chcolate Labrador at the vets. We collected them later this afternoon. Poor Jetson had rather a lot of teeth extracted and had bled quite a lot, so.....they both went home with Ruth for the night! :))) Thanks so much to everyone for their help today. Pete has finished his part of the new kitchen and Richard will be doing some painting for us on Thursday. It looks great! Pete hasn't been able to escape just yet as he has volunteered to put a new door on the bottom kennel block as the wood has gone rotten. Bless him!! Thanks to everyone who helped out today, it was a cold wet afternoon. Xxx

Stanley was an absolute gent in Brueton Park today. He jumped in the car unaided,Walked well on the lead and no probs in meeting other breeds whatsoever. Let's hope the Usual drawbacks of big black and male don't hold up that permanent home for too long. He deserves that sofa now

I’m Homed
Hi there! Wispa's Mum reporting back after over 3 weeks travelling to the other side of the world! I've had an amazing time visiting my family but It is so good to be back. However after just an afternoon at the kennels, by 8.30pm I was ready for bed - but sadly wide awake at 3am - great for catching up on emails etc but not good when you need beauty sleep ha ha!! As Kate said, I took Genie home - I've been missing greyhound cuddles and as she hasn't been eating terribly well - she struck lucky and is currently sleeping at the side of our bed - however she has not been at all impressed with the little lass who looks just like her in the mirror and has been growling and telling her off!!!!! I am excited about the forthcoming events with the Beatles Tribute band and the Afternoon Tea and Spring Fayre. If you would like tickets for the Beatles - give us a call at the kennels. It's good to be back! Ruth x

It was a very good day today...Ruth has come back! :)) She had missed the hounds so much she took Genie home with her tonight! Sure she has been a very pampered pooch this evening. :)) Rocky did better with a passing cyclist on his walk today, bless him. He will master these scary two wheeled monsters! He is totally relaxed in his kennel and spends most of the time on his back, legs in the air!! We had lots of help today, so we were able to take the dogs on morning and afternoon walks. Thanks so much to everyone for their help today. We got a few extra jobs done, thank you to Willow and Sam for giving the treatment room a good clean and for sorting some better toys for the sand run. Xxx

What excitement, we went to a new place for my walk today. It had lots of trees and very interesting smells. I saw a squirrel! Yippee Wales has squirrels. I hadn't seen any at the beach and was losing hope of ever seeing one again. Lubs to all. Florence xx

Thank you very much everyone for your lovely comments. We are so happy! Bobby is now part of our family! He spent the last two weeks with us already, we wanted to make sure he and Kitty were getting on fine. He is such a wonderful boy. How amazing to think that his trainers had advised that Bobby would need to be on his own. If it wasn’t for Rosie and Paul we would not have found out that he actually gets on really well with other greyhounds! We are so grateful to Rosie and Paul and last year Carol with Kitty to have fostered Bobby and Kitty over Christmas. More generally thank you to all the families who foster hounds over the Christmas period. We learned a lot from the information shared by Kitty’s and Bobby’s first families. It was so useful for us. Bobby is now settled down in his new bed. We hope to give you a happy new life.

Thanks so very much to Liz_Beth for taking Rocky out today, he really is a lovely boy and just needs an experienced owner to teach him the ropes.

Rocky
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Rocky came with me to Elmdon Park today. He stood very nicely to have his lead on and jumped in the car happily. He was very excited to be at the park, which did result in him being quite vocal but we did manage to greet a German Shepherd without any barking! He's a lovely boy, who needs to be shown the ropes of how to transition into life as a pet. If you're willing to do that, I'm sure you're going to have a hound that adores you as your reward x

What a day! Very short of help today, but we got through it. By the time we managed to finish morning walks it was time for afternoon walks, all dogs that could go in The sand run did. It was then dinner time. Felt like we were chasing our tails! The handsome Gent was homed, he is now called Bobby, so vrry pleases for him and his lovely family. Little girl Peggy and the lovely Bubba were both reserved pending their respective home checks. Days like these are fantastic, it makes everything so worth while, so very rewarding, love it. Taking a leaf out of Angies book, I feel it is now wine o'clock. X

Yessss!! I knew this was coming but it is so lovely to see the green sign 🙂 Well done Bobby for being such a good boy in your new home and being nice to Kitty. Paul and I are so glad that this was the beautiful boy that was left at the kennels at Christmas needing fostering. We had such a lovely time with him and know that his new family will have the same. Love you Bobby xx
