Well what a clever girl - Mags with her friend- lurcher Badger, passed her Bronze Good Citizen Scheme Test last night at training 🙂 . She's spent the past few weeks going for nice country walks at National Trust places so she can see other dogs but they are on the lead, she's been dog training so walked around a hall with other Greys and lurchers having lots of nice treats and generally taking in her new world quietly and at her pace. She's still not very brave out on the pavement so we only walk to and from the car still so her confidence grows and she still only goes into the garden to toilet but is happy to be walking out in the country 🙂 She loves her food and to chew so she has lots of foodie toys like Kongs of all shapes and she has antlers, Roots (dog wood) and cows hooves .... oh and the TV remote when I don't hide it 🙁 . Off to Pets at Home to get her a new toy for being such a clever girl 🙂 xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Thanks to our Wednesday walkers who managed to get all dogs out for walks that could go this morning. This afternoon was wet and miserable, so the dogs all had playtime in the run. Bubba surprised me, I told him to sit and he walked into the corner of the run and promptly sat. I thought this was a one off, but no, I called him back and asked him to do it again and he did twice! He is one smart cookie. Little Alex was a little stressed this morning, she was neutered yesterday, so to be on the safe side I took her to the vets. They are quite happy that there was no obvious connection after her op, but did change her medicine to see if that would help. We got back to kennels and she went in the kitchen with Denises Charlie. She then decided to put herself into an empty kennel where she spent the afternoon lounging in comfort with Charlie periodically checking in on her! She then went back to her own kennel. She settled down well, last time I checked the camera's she had a little stretch bless her. Little girl Peggy spent a bit of time in the office this afternoon, she could hardly keep her eyes open, and kept nodding off, she reminded me of the nodding dog toy! All residents were left nice and warm with their heating on 🙂 It is certainly getting chillier.

He seems such a gentle soul I really hope he gets the home that he deserves xx He deserves a great retirement at 7 years old. He reminds me so much of our Monty. If we were looking he would be here with us. Good luck gorgeous Jetson xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Alex had her neutering operation today. Many thanks to James for taking her to the vets for us. She will be off to her new home on Thursday. Such a sweet girl. :)) Xx it was great to have Norman back with us today after his long holiday! :)) We brightened up his day by informing him he had won the Chcolate Hamper in the Christmas raffle! :)) Congratulations and enjoy! Xx Lucy took new photos of some of our residents. Rocky is a very handsome lad and Peggy a very pretty girl! Xx Many thanks to Linda who popped in to drop off donations of food, faffle prizes and some very interesting stamps to raise funds for our lovely hounds. Thanks so much to the person who visited the roadshow at Planters and left them with our volunteers. So very kind of you. Xx Xxx

The often used term gentle giant fits Stanley well. He is a big lad and so well behaved and friendly. He likes to play but he also loves to chill out too. I love to say hello to him every time I come to Daybreaks and I'm a bit puzzled he is still waiting for his forever home. I hope his chance will come soon as he's such a lovely boy I'm sure he will be a wonderful addition to any family xx

Treaty is such a fantastic walker. When I walk into his kennel getting ready for walks he stands and waits for me to put his lead on and he is such a good boyou. He needs a home without other dogs but is so lovely no matter what good luck baby boy xx

I do not understand how jet hasn't got a home yet. He is a beautiful boy and also very cuddly. He is a dog who will make his owner feel very loved no matter what. He trusts very easily and loves you all the time. Jet is kind and smart and is excellent to walk even with cars who keeps stopping us while he is walking. He's such a lovely boy who deserves a forever home with people around him who can treat him with kindness the way he shows to others. Love you Jet xxx good luck xxx ???????????

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Met delightful Peggy today, very pretty girl! 🙂 Horse popped in to visit us today 🙂 He was a very popular lad during his stay at Daybreaks. Sure his many fans will be so pleased to know he is extremely happy and his family adore him! He looks gorgeous too! :)) xx While Jet was waiting for his dinner this afternoon a squirrel decided to make an appearance in one of the nearby trees 🙂 Jet did start to jump around and bark but soon calmed down; he responded well to calling his name and would rather have a cuddle than bother with a pesky squirrel! :)) He is such a great lad! Thanks so much to everyone for their help today. Xxx
