2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Thanks to our regular Wednesday walkers today, lovely to see you all as always. Little Dotty Dot found herself reserved, pending a home check. Not surprised she is such a pretty little girl and very affectionate. Another new arrival was Boss, head office instructed us to take him in from a pound as his 7 days were up, there was another who was taken by another RGT branch, thank goodness. He is such a happy handsome boy, so lovely and was happy to be fed and put in a nice warm kennel. Although a nice bright sunny day the temperature dropped this afternoon, all dogs are in a lovely warm kennel with a nice fleecy coat on. X

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Well Fat Neck Finn (or not so fat now as on his diet) and Nina did their bit to promote a "Greyhounds and Children Love Affair" on this afternoon's walk. A mom and her 5 children all under 9 I would say stood back on the pavement to let us pass but as the little girl seemed a bit afraid her brother " said can we stroke them ?"Nina was already anxious to get a fuss and if people don't stop her to stroke her she tends to try and stop them ! lol so as we always encourage kids to not be afraid of course we said they could. Nina wallowed in the attention of all of them at once! while Finn, who is a bit uninterested in anyone unless of course FOOD is involved, stood staring into the distance. The little girl around 3/4 years old ran up to him and asked if she could "snuggle" him then promptly massaged him all up and down him neck very actively even though she only came up to his shoulders!!! Finn stood and seemed to enjoy the impromptu attention, mind you its hard to know what he thinks except as I say with food! One of our hounds Cara who we lost with bone cancer was a return to Daybreaks for no fault of her own. The adopters had had 2 small children who she loved and although she was with us for 5 years if she heard a young child wherever we where she got excited and looked around to try and find them in case it was "her lost babies" RIP sweet girl xx Such great dogs who wouldn't want one.?

What a sweetie this boy is - only just 2 years old and done 26 races 🙁 . He leans against you and bounces too 🙂 He'll be a lot of fun 🙂 Settled in the new van like a dream and not a peep out of him xx

A lovely happy cheeky chappy. Lovely waggy tail very happy to meet everyone. A big black boy that likes to lean on you. Sure he will be snapped up very soon so pop down to kennels and see this youngster he might just be the one for you.

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A very busy day which saw Breezy and sister Candy reserved together! Wonderful news :)) Also reserved was the very lovely Alex. Xx Alan, Richard and Lucy very kindly did a warehouse trip for us this morning. They were able to use our new van for the first time. It was almost a shame to get it dirty! The old van has definitely seen better days, but it has served us well. 🙂 It was Jestosn's Birthday today, we made sure he lots of extra cuddles. He really is a super lad. Do hope his forever home comes along soon. Xx Thank you to Lucy for the great new photos of some of the dogs. Greyhounds are so photogenic! Xxx
