Hello everyone, it’s me again, little Ratty, I have been really busy, eating, doing zoomies and lying upside down with my paws in the air. Moe has been teaching me lots of good things like it’s okay to have my teefies cleaned and my paws wiped after a walk. He says I am welcome to lie on the sofa as long as it’s not the one he’s on 🙂 mum says we are very good at meal times because we don’t take each other’s food and we wait so nicely for our turn. I hardly ever put my paws on the worktop now, yay lots of progress! Mum says I am coming on leaps and bounds and I learn very quickly. And I get special treats when I do a wee or a poo in the garden because I race up the garden to tell mum what I have done and she is very pleased with me which makes me even more happy than I am already. Got to go now, there’s a comfy sofa to lie on, love from Ratty xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Hi Just wondering if the kennels are now back open and how I am best to make contact? Are calls being diverted and will someone be available to answer? as I have seen you are shut over xmas. I would like to ring and offer two raised large greyhound beds if you'd like them, we are more than happy to drop them off. Our greys had new beds from us for Christmas so no longer need them! They are in fine condition though. Please let me know. Charlottexx

Next update on this lovely boy. He has now found the bed!! But not bothered trying the settee yet. He is such a star, no grumbling or growling, if one of ours grumbles at him for treading on them or sniffing their bottom for too long (!), Gent just walks away. He is also improving when meeting other dogs. He still can't really work out what a small dog is and stares intently at them, but is now relaxed with any dog around his size. He's improving every day and learns very quickly. He even seems to be getting the hang of 'leave'. We can't recommend this lovely boy highly enough for someone to share their home with. We definitely can't keep him but would love him to be in a home soon for good and not back in the kennels. He's an absolute treasure ?? Xxx

Kuro here. I wanted to let you all know that I have found my voice again and I woof to let the staff, whoops I mean Mum and Dad, know that I need my meals or to go out for walkies. I've had a fantastic Christmas, had lots of treats and got a big caterpillar to chew!

After a great day where we had lots of presents and while everybody was off have dinner I showed Barney how to open the bedroom door, last night Barney and I slept in the same room, we woke everyone up every 45 mins the night before trying to get to each over, mom, TC, uncle Ian and auntie Deborah were too daft to work out what we wanted, we had fun playing musical beds for a bit. We went to the beach this morning and Acer our boxer cousin is on her way. It is amazing to have Barney here and mom says it proves we could fit in 2 greyhounds - TC says no..... Lubs to all. Florence xxx

Thanks for all the Christmas wishes, I hope all hounds and humans had a wonderful Christmas Day. Hope you got what you wanted from SantaPaws. I got what I asked for. Food! Whole stocking of treats. Well there was a toy but the treats were a lot more interesting. I won’t be allowed them all at once which is really unfair. I had a Christmas dinner for breakfast and dinner. I did help Florence with her leftovers. She also helped me with my leftovers. She eats the bits of biscuits I leave on the floor too. We have been to two different beaches so far which I do enjoy towards the end. When I first get there I do stand there watching Florence running and annoying other dogs. She has a lot of fun but not sure her mummy is very pleased. I have a horrible Christmas jumper on. Not pleased with it at all. I got a super long toy from Auntie Klaire which is perfect I love them toys. Can’t wait for the last few days we have here. Barney Xx

Jet has been with us a few days now and he has settled very well. He is a very affectionate boy who loves as much fuss as you will give him and he is excellent with my children. He would not jump onto the sofa for the first couple of days but now loves it. He gets on really well with our own grey, Molly, lying on the sofa together etc, she seems to have taken to him really well too. At feeding time he eats his own food and then walks off, never attempts to eat Molly's food. We have found however, that he needs to be let out to go for a wee straight after eating as this is when he has had little "accidents" in the house.Up to today he has not managed to master how to get up the stairs and doesn't show any interest in them at all. We were told that he was very excitable around other breeds of dog and have found this to be true. Besides this he walks on his lead really really well. He is an adorable big boy.

Hope everyone is having a great Christmas and especially the Foster hounds who are getting a taste of the "Dolce Vita" I am sure. I also hope Ruth felt really proud and happy when reading the Memory wall (after the tears had no doubt fallen) because but for her of her and the dedicated hard work she and the Daybreaks gang have put in over the years, there may not have been so many Greys who had wonderful love filled years on this earth, before running free again over the bridge. Ruth you and the team are angels here on earth. Wishing you all a healthy happy New Year of more lucky hounds being re-homed. xx PS Fat neck Fin's diet is on hold for Xmas lol
