2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
All our boys who were out on foster for the Christmas holiday have now returned to the kennels. Thank you so much to everyone who invited one of our them to stay with you. 🙂 We really appreciate the comments made for all the foster hounds. Hopefully they will soon find their forever homes. Xxx We had two very bouncy new arrivals today, Candy and Breezy. Litter sisters who have been together since they were seven weeks old. They are non racers and very happy girls, not to mention very pretty too! 🙂 We have three more young ladies arriving tomorrow. x Jess was kept very busy with pampers and baths for Candy and Breezy. Gorgeous little Layla came for a pamper, she looked great! She looks so well after being really poorly recently. Another ex Daybreaks resident Caddy also came for a pamper before he sets off with his family on an adventure...they are going to Spain until March! Xx Thanks to Jayne for taking down the Christmas decorations, making sure we didn't miss Twelfth Night! Getting one of the trees back into its box was a challenge for us both! :)) Sara and Louis popped in for a visit this afternoon! It was great to see them. Sara managed to notice a couple of bowls we normally use for feeing had been used for water instead! We promise not to let it happen again!! We have missed her telling us off! Wishing her well for the forthcoming hip operation. She will be the Bionic Woman then! Xxx Xxx

So we took this gorgeous boy back to the kennels today. It was very hard to do as he is such a sweetie but we really can't keep him unfortunately. He has got on so well with our 3 and would fit in well with any type of family, with or without other dogs. He still needs practise with learning what non-greyhounds are but he learns very quickly and I am sure will be good with any sort of dog in the long run. He loves playing with toys (we'd love to see him in the sand run with some!) and I think would be fine with children, though he hasn't met any yet, although very little wobbly ones might be at risk of being knocked over as he doesn't know where his body is a lot of the time. He was learning 'stay' and 'leave' already and accepting of us leaving the house and not taking him and the other dogs with us. PLEASE someone snap this beautiful boy up. He is so worth it, and as Paul (my husband) said earlier - he will make a mark on someone's heart 🙂 xxx

Jet
I’m Homed
Jet has been an absolute pleasure to have around the house for the last 2 weeks and he will make someone a fantastic pet. He can't get near enough to you for fuss, in fact he sat on my husband's knee the other day, quite a picture! 🙂 His temperament is fantastic around humans and our own grey, Molly. He is still however, very hit and miss around other dogs. He is good walking on his lead and I have put him on a "short lead" sometimes, for more control, and he walks at my side brilliantly. He can be quite anxious when left in a room by himself and he settles a lot better when Molly is in the room with him. Oh no, he's just hung his head over arm so I'm having to type one-handed :)) He never pesters for food either, he is such a well behaved boy. He is big and may get a little excited when a new human appears and want to jump a little but a few firm words and he soon stops. He has been subjected to the hoover and didn't bat an eyelid. Also, he was absolutely fine with the fireworks at New Year. This lad has so much going for him and we would have him if our circumstances were different, but he would be left for far too long when the children are back at school and I'm back at work. I think that that would be a step too far for him at this time. I do hope that someone gives this lad a chance though as he's adorable.
