Daisydog here wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas from me and mum. We are visiting GoodBoyTed at Auntie Kate’s and sharing our toys and sausages with foster girl Candy. This holiday season I am mostly wearing red and white with a hint of glitter. My Christmas wish is that every hound has a home as cosy and kind as mine. Paws crossed. Happy Christmas wags Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
I feel absolutely shattered after being back at the kennels for a few days this week - I am still recovering but loving being involved again and getting to know the newest arrivals and helping them go out to their Christmas homes this weekend. I am going to the vets tomorrow to see how Spritz is healing and then will be at the kennels for a few hours to see Tyke and Socks our resident cats off to their Christmas home and finish a bit more paperwork! We plan to open again on the 1st January so I will take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very happy and prosperous New Year.... I will be back at the end of January but the kennels are in the capable hands of Kate and Jo and the fabulous team of volunteers we are blessed to have x

It was a very strange day today. I opened up the kennels and we only had one dog left! Everyone else was already out on foster. Lecky went out this afternoon. I think she might be seriously spoilt! Thanks to Anita and Paula who came in today and gave the kennels a good old clean and tidy up. Kate was also in and we had a big tidy and clear out before Ruth jets off for a much deserved holiday and recouperation. Wishing her and Andy much love. I found it quite emotional today, it was very strange not having lots of greyhounds to look after. Thank you to everyone who has taken a hound for Christmas. It not only gives them a break from kennel life but also gives us important feedback on how they react to being in a home environment. I would like to thank all of our dedicated volunteers and all of you that make donations of food, bedding, towels and financial contributions to the kennels for your continued support, you all make this happen. Thank you once again to all of you wonderful fosterers who have taken a hound in for the festive period. You are fabulous! Please leave updates on the site if at all possible. X Here's to looking forward to 2019, homing lots of hounds and getting our waiting list down. Thanks to Blaise and Lucy for my beautiful gift, you are so very talented, and thanks everyone for all for my lovely cards and best wishes. We are now closed until 1st January 2019, but, if you do need to contact us in an emergency, call the kennels on 0121 782 7702, your call will be answered. Well, Merry Christmas And a Happy New year to you all. See you next year! Jo Xx

Hello everyone, it’s little Ratty here, mum and Moe say I am doing very well. I had my first Christmas dinner today when auntie Debbie came over and I think roast lamb is very yummy so does Moe 🙂 but we were both really good and waited until dinner was over. I slept all night and I have just done a wee in the garden so I have had a special treat, love from Ratty xx

It was a completely crazy day at the kennels today! :)) Handsome Hector and gorgeous Jessie went off to their new homes. Do hope all goes well for them both. Hector has his new Mom all to himself and Jessie has a great new Greyhound sister Duchy and her family. :)) Thank you so much to everyone who has fostered one of our residents for the Christmas holiday. Thanks to the donations we received in memory of sweet little Bez we have been able to send each foster dog out wearing a tracker device. Ruth was kept very busy today registering all the trackers and explaining to everyone how they worked. 🙂 Lecky will be going out to her foster home tomorrow lunchtime. 🙂 If you need food or last minute Christmas treats for you four legged friends, the kennels will be open in the morning. Xxx
