I'm very proud to say Belle has passed her Good dog Citizen Gold award today along with former Daybreaks girl Nadie. Over the weeks and months of Saturday morning training she has transformed into the most wonderful gentle girl, she really enjoys the classes and to be told by the examiner she is in lovely condition makes us so happy. Special treats and a good rest now, she deserves it xx

Sending lots of love to you gorgeous boy xxxxx I'm so sorry to hear it didnt work out forever for you this time, however I know you've had a wonderful experience of human life and love over the past few months which is what you so desperately needed (thank you), and you've made such progress. I have every faith in and for you xx You're still so young, you'll get there. Remember to just pause and take your time. As well as just wanting to play, the team at Daybreaks are there to help you... and know you are loved, you big pup!! xx

Rocky Rockstar is back at Daybreaks. Sadly he pulled his owner over and chased after a cat. He is such a big strong boy and very keen so we have got our work cut out on working with him. We have enrichment stations that he will work with daily from tomorrow to see if we can mentally stimulate him in addition to stretching his legs in the sand run now he is back to kennel life. I feel so sad for him.....

I took handsome Simba to Elmdon Park today. For the first half of the walk he was quite strong on the lead and was excited when he saw the first dogs in the park. However, when we actually got close to other dogs he went past them without a problem. He definitely slowed his pace in the second half of the walk and he could walk on a loose lead. By the time we got back, I think he was very happy to see his bed! I hope he finds his forever home soon xx

Daybreaks Diary!

A better day today....not as wet as yesterday! Thanks so much to everyone who came in to help. Our residents enjoyed morning and afternoon walks, mostly in the sunshine. :)) We had some thunder and lightning, all the dogs started barking and my little Lyra dived onto the bed under the desk in the office. Xxx Beautiful little Panda has gone out on Foster. Such a very cute little girl! Xxx Do hope all goes well for her. Xxx It was good to see Jeremy and Casey today, although Casey wasn't very happy to have to have his nails trimmed. Xxx A big "Thank You" to Phil and his work colleagues who have again sent us lots of food and treats for the dogs and also goodies for the volunteers. So very kind of you all. We are very grateful for you constant support for us. Xxx We have some lovely dogs at the kennels, all waiting for their forever homes. Please give us a call if you would like to meet any of them. :)) Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Friday was like the pop group….. wet wet wet!!! I took Penny in for her Spey first thing. Lady went out on foster for a night and Chris and I unpacked the delivery of natural treats whilst rearranging the office! Penny came back and had had 4 teeth removed bless her. She is a very sweet girl. As it was very quiet with volunteers the residents all had a soggy time in the sand run!

It's Nadie's 6th birthday today. She didn't get out as the weather's been so wet but I tried to do some training with her for Sunday's gold test but she wasn't really bothered. All 3 houndies had treats and some ice cream. Love you Nadie. Can't believe you're 6 already and I've had you just over 3 years! x

It was Bob's funeral on Tuesday. Xxx Skip and I, were honoured to be part of the Daybreaks family to accompany Bob on his journey to the chapel. Skip was one of Bob's dogs many years ago. 🙂 He loved to visit Bob after we had closed the kennels for the evening, enjoying a drink of milk and a sleep in Bob's very cosy kitchen for a while. He was very fond of Bob and would sometimes take a lot of persuasion to come home with me! He was so comfy lying by Bob's feet. Xxx We will both miss Bob more than words can say but so grateful to have known him and call him our friend. Goodnight Bob....all our love, Skip and Katie Xxx xxx

Hi all, This is short notice but we have been contacted by Stratford Racecourse and invited to their Family Fun Race Day this Sunday 16th July. I am looking for anyone that can help me make sure the day runs as smooth as it can by volunteering. Tasks would be setting up the stand, looking after dogs, bucket collecting and breaking down the stand. I will be there from 8am (approx) and we are not allowed to leave the stand area until last race finishes (6pm approx). We are allowed to take dogs but be aware of the long day it is. If anyone can volunteer on the day please email me on rob.daybreaks@outlook.com as soon as possible. Thank you.
