    I’m Homed

From Lunas owners….. We are utterly heartbroken to be returning our beautiful girl Luna. She is a loveable, kind, gentle soul who needs a home that isn’t as busy as ours in becoming. Unfortunately in recent months it has become clear that luna and our other greyhound Artemis aren’t getting on and try as we have we haven’t been able to repair their relationship. It has been a very difficult and upsetting road and bring her back has been one of the most difficult decisions we have ever made. We would just like to try and find a home that is best suited for our wonderful girl. She can manage busy households and events fine. She was always good when we had a full house of grandparents, nieces, nephews and siblings and she had been to events like weddings and parties. However needs a household that isn’t busy all the time. She definitely needs lots of chill time with her new family cuddles up on the sofa. She is fine with other dogs. She had 2 doggy cousins who were westiepoos who used to dive up her legs when they greeted her and follow her around. However again she likes her space and would do best in a single dog house hold but visiting families with dogs, going for walks with other dogs - no problem for luna. We did foster a male grey for a few months over lockdown Christmas and she seemed to get on well with him so maybe she’s also suit a family with a male grey, I couldn’t be sure. She is also good with kids, she has has been around our nephews and nieces for years who rang from 2-8 and in the last year she has lived with our baby who is now 11 month old who she has always been really good with. She can be a bit of a nervous girl so does need a calm loving household. She is fine being left as we worked full time just being let out in the middle of the day. She is house trained along with basic commands - bed, wait, spin, up and paw. However I would make sure you have a safe space or a kong to keep her entertained as she can be a bit of a chewer when left alone. She truly is an amazing and loving dog. If you looking for a chilled out girl who just wants to snuggle look no further.

    I’m Homed

Heartbreakingly Luna has been returned today. She was adopted back in 2018 but unfortunately she has not been getting on with the family's existing greyhound. They have tried everything over the years and together we felt it was best to find her a new home. Her owners are distraught at returning her but we support their decision and admire their perseverance in trying to keep her. She is great with children, other breeds on walks, house trained, loving but not desperate for constant attention but we feel she may just would be best as an only dog in a home. Please get in touch if you think you can offer her what she desperately needs as she is already quite stressed being back at Daybreaks.

One year ago this super boy became part of our family. The time goes by so fast.Update on his gardening skills, hole 3,4 and 5 have now been merged into one large crater. Most of the time when he isnt running around and spinning he will be digging. Recently he was snoozing under the acer tree enjoying the summer weather so I left him to it...five minutes later soil was flying in the air as excavation continued, never a dull moment! He is never far from my side and we love our sofa snuggles best.Big hugs Sam, happy gotcha day, special treats today xx

  • Daybreaks Diary!

    I’m Homed

Another very warm day. Thanks so much to Angie for feeding everyone and cleaning all the kennels first thing. Xxx We were able to do morning walks as it's very shady in the lane, but this sfternoon we just did short walks in the sand run as it was too hot to take our boys and girls very far. Xxx Many thanks to everyone who came in to help today. Jess came in with Koda who proceeded to show my Cracker how to jump over the gate from the back kitchen! :)) Xxx It was good to see Simon with Jet and Amber, thank you so much for the donation of food. Many thanks to the lovely people who brought in donations of bedding, towels, food and pilchards. The dogs had pilchards with their dinner this afternoon. 🙂 Thanks so much to everyone who has sent or brought in donations of food. We are so grateful. Xxx Thinking of Jo, who is still in hospital and not feeling well at all. Sending lots of love and get well wishes. Xxx xxx Seana, thank you for your lovely thoughts and poem for Bob....He was a truly special person. Xxx xxx

    I’m Homed

Gal was as bright as a button this morning, her tail twirling round and round like a mad propeller!! She polished off her breakfast in record time, and was ready to play - someone needs to tell her she is post op recovery and should be taking it easy!!! xx

Molly is absolutely adorable! She was understandably stressed when she arrived, but she found some toys to play with...the blue unicorn was her favourite. 🙂 She ate all her dinner and enjoyed a Dentastix at bedtime. Hoping she will find a special home soon. Xxx Thanks so very much to Rob for meeting her family half way and bringing her back to Daybreaks. :)) Xxx

Little Truf update from my foster home... There is one word to sum up today...Ice-cream!! Tomorrow is the day I got to pick Molly up. I spoke with her owner today and was upset about having to return her. It is going to be a very sad day for the both of them but the owner knows Molly is going to be looked after just like at home. Myself and all at Daybreaks wish her owner the best of wishes and not to lose touch woth us here.
