2019 Daybreaks Diary!

What a great Christmas party we had. It was lovely to catch up with so many of our ex residents, all looking amazing - especially the brave & lovely Skip who is still recovering from his surgery and was sporting a very festive bandage! It was so sweet to see all the doggies lining up waiting to visit Santa, and then coming out with their very own special present - think I am just a big softie at heart! So sad that Ruth was too poorly to attend the festivities today - I know we all send her our very best wishes for a speedy recovery and return to the kennels, she is missed by 2 legs and 4 legs alike. As Jo has already said, thanks to everyone who helped today go so smoothly, I hope it's not too early to wish everyone a merry Christmas. Angie xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Well, what can I say, what a fantastic day today was. When I arrived this morning there was already a hive of frantic energy going on with feeding and cleaning. People were setting up the stands for the raffles, tombola and donstoon tables. Walking started a little earlier than usual, after all today was anything but a normal day! Thanks to everyone who gave up their Sunday to set up, walk, clean and generally man the stalls, refreshments and show visitors around. I won't try and name everyone individually as I would still be here this time tomorrow and would not want to miss anyone off! We had a couple of viewings, and fluffy Layla was signed up and went home. Fantastic to see lots of our ex residents come in for a visit, I think most saw our very own Santa Paws, thanks Santa for stopping by at this very busy time of year for you! Sadly our Ruth was not up to attending today, she was greatly missed by everyone, but she does need to take time out to recover. I know she would have been so devestated and disappointed not to be there :(( We now have our memory wall installed as you come through our front door. You can have a tag engraved to remember your rainbow bridge hounds, I think it a fab way to remember them. Well, I will stop rambling on for now and will wait in anticipation to see what fantastic amount was raised with your generous contributions. Thanks again for your your support, without you we could not do what we do. Ok now I will stop!! Jo x

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

My mommy and I had a lovely time this morning at the party. I saw Santa which was very exciting but I was abit scared but I got a toy which was lovely and mommy took some great photos which she's since shown everyone, she's very proud of them! there was a lovely girl dog in before me who came out carrying her new toy off Santa proud as punch, made mommy really laugh. Then mommy decided she liked the look of rummys new coat on his picture so much that I should have one so got myself a new fleece (that'll be the 6th coat I've got, think she just likes buying them!) That was after I went sniffing round the office and found a hidden biscuit hehe! Mom fell in love with my namesake again and is so wishing him a new home! Anyway thank you all at daybreaks it was brilliant well done to you all and wonderful to see so many hounds. Lots of love jet xxx

Ah, beautiful Spritz... you look very at home staying with your foster family, who are clearly doing a great job nursing you back to full health. Oh jet you are so beautiful and clearly loving. When I visited today you were having cuddles off a lady and I'm surprised she got out you were all over her and adoring cuddles...there must be someone out there who you do that to that will take you home you'd clearly be a treasure xxx

12 months ago this gentle giant made us a family. Nifty its been a brilliant 12 months. You are such a lovely chilled out boy. You took to Roadshows after a shaky start but Luna & Berry took you under their wings and showed you how much fun you can have. You now have a sister who adores you & you are a typical big brother to her but always there to look after her if she needs you. Lastly thanks Daybreaks for everything over the 12 months - you've been brilliant and also to Greyhound trust Solihull for all the new friends we have made. Xx

Congratulations to everyone who helped at the fayre . The brass band did excellent work in one of the runs, must surely have been one of the strangest venues for them to play carols! Lovely to see so many happy hounds x

Just spent a lovely hour at the Christmas fayre got myself a couple of calendars and mugs and would you believe it had a go on the tombola only to win 2 of the prizes i donated lol what are the odds of that, great work to all the staff hope you raised loads x
