We got Skip's results today. It's a follicular stem cell carcinoma with the cells dividing quickly. Even the oncologist at Willows has described it as an "odd" carcinoma. The vet and I have decided upon a plan once we have insurance approval. CT scan to check no spread. Then further surgery to take more tissue away. The margins were clean but she wants to leave nothing to chance. She'll check his lymph nodes too. We could go straight for all of that plus removal of his ear but she doesn't think that's necessary at the moment. She's hopeful for a good outcome. He's absolutely fine and oblivious that anything has happened other than having to wear a soft collar and not being allowed to scratch! We got the lump removed very quickly so hopefully there's no spread. He's not even 5 yet and we love him so much. x

Thanks to our Wednesday walkers and volunteers today, as always. Dogs had morning and afternoon walks. Poor little Lecky was still suffering with a poorly tum, so off to the vets we went, she was such a good girl traveling in the van. She has some medication so hopefully she will start to feel better very soon. Thanks for the donations of bedding, always much appreciated. Thanks also for your kind and generous donations towards the care of Patch, Gracie and also for little Bez, your generosity never ceases to amaze me. Xx It was great to see Ruth briefly today, she is still not well, but is hopefully heading in the right direction. Thanks for all your messages wishing her a speedy recovery, we do miss her as do the hounds. Let's now hope that we can look forward to more positive weeks ahead, the past couple as most or all of you know have been a bit of a strain to say the least! Let's try and get as many of our residents into permanent homes and try to get our ever increasing waiting list down, we can but hope. Thanks again all. Jo. Xx

NMDO7 I have just read Archives history and how you have done everything to keep him with you. I understand how decisions of amputation are so hard, we had to make that decision when our beloved boy Dylan had a sudden broken leg which they discovered was due to bone cancer after a scan. It was his front leg and we worried he would struggle after the amputation as he was 9 1/2 when he had it. We lost him 3 years later but we have wonderful videos and memories of him running in the snow with our 3 other Greys in our garden he was so happy during those years that we knew we had done the right thing. I still miss him but we are so glad he had the will to stay with us and enjoy his life. Good luck to you and Archive I will say a little prayer for you both. xx

Hey everyone Barney here again. The Fireworks have stopped so I’m happy. I’ve gone back to being a food vacuum cleaner. Oh it’s fun. Daddy was eating a sausage roll so I decided I’ll jump onto the sofa grab the sausage roll run off and eat it. It was very nice. I was starting to smell so my humans had to do me a quick bath. I knew as soon as my collar came off. Oh how I hate it. Surprisingly Samantha managed to keep me under control because she was the only one bathing me. Now I smell lovely. Barney Xx

Shani, thank you for your wishes. For next couple of weeks he is off the blood thinners so you can imagine how that feels. The op will give him back a far better quality of life we have had to wait as I said until he was healthy again- my vets have been fantastic they have researched his rare blood problems and sourced drugs to help him during the op and just after so fingers crossed. Much love. Xxx

Lecky was due to have her neutering op today but unfortunately she had diarrhoea this morning 🙁 So not a good idea to have a major operation! She is booked in again for the end of next week. Poor little girl. Xx Yesterday Reggie went to see the vet...he has retained testicles! This will mean a more complicated neutering operation for him. :(( He will have to be opened up so the vet can look for those bits that are normally visible! He is a fabulous lad, travelled so well in the car and enjoyed a walk up the road by the vets. I can understand why his trainer said she would marry him if he was a man! 🙂 A little short of volunteers first thing, thanks so much to Declan, you were a star!! Lots of reinforcements later so all our residents went on morning and afternoon walks today. They also had lots of extra fuss from some visitors who fell in love with Jet! Xxx

Gracie and Patch are being fostered separately to enable both there own special one on one attention. They have not been fazed by this... Patch was a happy bouncy boy this morning when we checked on him and gracie was fast asleep with legs in the air... Both are doing great seperately and we all hope they make a speedy recovery...

Very sadly Ice is no longer reserved. 🙁 He is a really lovely lad, very happy and bouncy. He would certainly brighten up your day! Forgot to say he is also very handsome and only small for a boy. 🙂 Xxx

    I’m Homed

This morning we went out in TCs car, we drove for ages and then turned round and came back, mom got out got 5 mins but that was all. I was really concerned that they had forgotten my walk. We turned down a long winding road and then we were at the SEA at somewhere starting with 2 Ls and ending in a nog. I was so happy when I got on the sand, I wagged my tail and did some bounding. Mom let me off my lead to run to TC but I ran to some people on the quay to tell them how happy I was. Mom was not happy about that. We walked along - well I bounded- and then mom walked away and TC let me off my lead again. I sprinted backwards and forwards between them and then to really surprise them I ran into the sea, my t-shirt got wet so mom has had to wash it! I loved it. Sending love to Patch and Gracie. Wish they could come and live with me. Lubs to all Florence xxx

Come on prospective owners do not over look this lad I have his half brother and he is one of the loveliest dogs I have ever had the privilege to have in my life. Temperament fantastic, never had any problems with small breeds of dog, and real gentleman. If Rummy is half as good you as Jed you will have a lovely companion.
