tomgrey.All us hound lovers know the terrible pain in our heart when we have to say goodbye to our faithful Greys who rely on us to send them peacefully over the bridge when the time comes to run joyously free with the wind yet again in their ears. At times that pain seems unbearable, but you have given them the greatest gift of all, to leave this earth as a beloved pet to live on in your heart forever.Some never have that. This is how I cope and why I keep re-homing RIP Tom xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Loveheart & Nifty........same situation for me with my Mel although compared to poor Nick his 3 month stay wasnt really that long. I think it was his age, 7.5 yrs, not your traditional cutiepie & he was so quiet so maybe giving the impression of not having a lot of personality but as soon as I got him home he settled in like he had always been in a home. He bonded with my (then) lurcher Archie (RIP) & Kate used to laugh at how Archie would literally stand under Melly's belly! Theywere so good together. All these hounds are all wonderful but I have found those at a mature age that have been returned for no real reason or late into retirement so rewarding & even though they may be really chilled they give love in abundance in their own special way. Like Archie, Mel is now probably on borrowed time and I am so grateful for the last 3.5 years together. I remember Nifty well because he is a little similar to Mel. I didn't mee Cilla but I'm glad she is doing well. I remember Finn. He certainly sounds a character! I don't think I could afford his weekly food bill!!! I'm popping in to pay respects to Bez tomorrow & I shall have another cuddle with Nick. I am at a loss to understand why he is still waiting. He is so loving & has such a great personality. I am praying the right people will come soon.....preferably before Christmas. Have a good wkend.

Jetlucy, sadly Barney was only 9 when he went to the bridge. It must have been a typo when I told PamD that he was 14. If only all our houndies would live that long xxx

We are so sorry I would have loved to have met him. I believe he was also her kennel mate in their racing kennels. They were more then likely never separated until retirement. So very sorry xx
