    I’m Homed

I am still recovering from Sunday and our upheaval of the treatment room, magnotherapy unit, cupboards etc etc but it is all coming together and getting sorted! I am grateful to the volunteers who braved the weather Sunday to help at the kennels and also take some of our inmates to the walk xx

  • Lyra (Maggie)

    I’m Homed

Lyra has just returned from her first trip to the seaside! She had a lovely time and was so exhausted after long walks along the beach and hills even she was too tired to play! She did find the steps from our accommodation a little too steep for her; she could get up but not down...I got plenty of weight training carrying her down them several times a day 🙂 Thankfully Skip, Fletch and my sister's Greyhound Max didn't need any help! It was so lovely being able to spend lots of time with them all. Xxx

    I’m Homed

Teddy is back at the kennels and had a check up at the vets this morning. He was such a good boy, jumped in the car with Latina with no problem and settled down straight away. When he arrived at the vets he had a nice big wee before we went in :)) His paw looks great and is healing nicely. He lay on the table while his paw was redressed and went to sleep! He looked so peaceful it was a shame when he had to get up!! He met two small fluffy dogs in the waiting room and was brilliant with them. Teddy is a very special lad and deserves a very special home. Xxx

    I’m Homed

It was a busy morning with Teddy having a dressing change at the vets and Latina going for her neutering operation, then a trip to the track with Bob to collect very pretty new girl Lady. When I got back to the kennels our work experience students Sam and Willow were getting very wet trying to unblock the drain in the bottom kennel block. They did a great job! :)) Thank you. Xx It was an awful day and didn't stop raining...thanks so much to all our walkers who got soaked taking the dogs out this morning and this afternoon. The dogs all loved being wrapped in a nice dry towel when they came back. Jo collected Latina from the vets this afternoon. She was a little sleepy, hopefully she will feel better tomorrow. I was away on holiday last week and although it was lovely to see them l was so hoping our handsome black boys...Nick, Teddy, Brandy, Raven and Jet would have found their forever homes. They really are all so special....Lyra, my two lads Skip and Fletch and my sister's gorgeous boy Max had a great time on holiday with us, hope some of our kennel boys and girls get the chance to do the same. Xxx

  • Barney

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

I thought I was Barneys favourite but now I realise he loves us all. The other day he pushed me out the way to get to his sister and yesterday he was restless and crying for mommy who went away for a day. He kept going to check to see if she was back yet.

  • Nick

    I’m Homed

The handsome Nick came with me today to Sheldon Country Park. He jumped in the car easily and travelled happily. Once at the park, he was eager to get started and didn't appreciate waiting for other people to arrive!! He met a staffy with impeccable manners and stood lapping up any fuss that he could get. A lovely hound who needs his chance to shine now in a home xx

    I’m Homed

I really enjoyed our visit to the dog show, unlike Jay who let us know in no uncertain words just how bored he was once he relized he wasn't there to play!!I thought he looked a million dollars but with his head hanging down and tail between his legs there was no way he was winning anything!Petal seemed to enjoy it and behaved very well considering she is not the best with smaller dogs, she even won a rosette, bless her It was nice to chat with jetlucy---I think!!--and see some of the Daybreak dogs .Its sad to see some of the long stay lads still there but they are so well looked after and as Ruth says,"some one will come ,one day" Ruth, hope you are feeling better now?Has any one any tips on distracting 2 very keen greys from having a go at squirrels on our walks ,which can become a nightmare if I am on my own!!

  • Raven

    I’m Homed

Raven came on the walk to sheldon country park with us today. He travelled great in the car (after a little help to get in). He walked great on the lead and was very eager to see everything on his first visit to the park. He came across two other breeds but walked passed not showing much interest until one ran in the distance and he wanted to go running too but continued walking when given guidance.....he was a lovely dog, I hope some one comes along and gives him a home soon xxxx (i would love to but I am still being told I can only have one sob sob).

Oh Brandy you stole my heart today when we took you to Sheldon country park. What a lovely calm placid boy you are and a pleasure to walk. You do like to lean in for a good fuss. I can't believe no one has snapped you up already you'd be such a great pet and you deserve your own sofa. I really hope you find your home soon xx
