Rocky doesn’t like cyclists and his muzzle. Rocky does like a chilled-out solo walk down the lane without his muzzle while inspecting everything in his range. And a tasty treat too.

I’ve been called cheeky for the past few days. I have these sneaky plans. On Thursday mommy and my sister brought back fish and chips. I’m not allowed anything because of my diet but I do get an occasional sausage. When my humans stopped eating I came up with a plan. I went to the other side of the room and pretended to sleep. After about five minutes I got up and slowly walked towards their leftovers. I grabbed the paper with the chips in and went on a shredding spree. Unfortunately I didn’t find any left over chips but I had great fun ripping the paper. I did leave quite a mess afterwards though. Auntie Klaire came yesterday to drop something for the little hamster in a cage. I got very excited to see her. The main thing was that my humans had pizza yesterday so again I came up with a plan. Once I knew they were done I pretended I wanted a fuss after about 5 minutes of fuss I turned round grabbed the pizza box and ran away with it. The sad thing is I didn’t get to do anything with it because by the time I sat down my daddy took it off me. Barney Xx

I think Barney has took to retirement really well. It must of been really exhausting all that running because I used to have a lovely comfy bed and plenty of room. Now I have to watch where I put my feet or sleep somewhere else because someone is always there Barney.

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

After a cold and very misty start, it turned out to be an absolutely glorious Autumn day with wall to wall sunshine. Very quiet for volunteers this morning so it was sand run playtime again for the boys and girls, who thoroughly enjoyed romping about in the sun without coats on! Our gang of post op patients had a very gentle plod round too to stretch their legs and enjoy a change of scene. The beautiful Latina found herself reserved mid morning, she is such a lovely girl and has really come out of her shell. Teddy spent the day out in the kitchen area again, he was particularly helpful whilst I was hanging out the washing and emptying the recycling bins!! He just had to check everything out for me to make sure it was safe!! He is such a gorgeous boy and is very responsive to training - he would love a home of his own in which to flourish. We had plenty of volunteers this afternoon so the dogs enjoyed a lovely walk, with grooming and TLC for the "patients". Many thanks to everyone who helped out today - hope you enjoyed being out in the sunshine as much as me. It's a busy weekend for our roadshow crews - why not pop along to Stratford Racecourse or Melbicks Garden Centre to say Hello? For our boys & girls in the kennels, my wish is for that special family to come along and give them their very own forever home. As is usual on a Friday it's wine time now - I think a nice chilled white is called for today in celebration of another lovely Daybreaks day in the sunshine. Cheers all! Angie xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Jo very kindly came in especially to take little Lass to the vets for her neutering operation this morning, while Declan and I took Ice and Honey for their vaccination boosters. They travelled great together in the car and were both so good at the vets. 🙂 They were very happy to get back to the kennels and find their breakfast waiting for them! It was lovely to see Dexter and to meet the very handsome Dougie when they came to see Jess for their pampers. I enjoyed trying to get Douggie to run around in the sand run! :)) Thanks so much to Shani and Ken for the cookies for us humans and tins of pilchards for the doggies. So kind of you. 🙂 Xx Jimmy went home this afternoon. He was so calm and patient waiting for us to complete his paperwork. He was a little unsure on leaving the kennels without any of his Greyhound friends with him. Im sure his new family will give him lots of support to help him settle with them. Wishing them all lots of happy times together. Xx We also had a visit today from our Best In Show winner at the Dog Show, the very pretty Daisy and her equally as pretty sister Diamond. :)) Ricky and Jess are very proud parents! Thanks for the homemade biscuits Jess they were a great help in trying to get Jimmy to his owners car. Xx I collected Lass from the vets late afternoon, she gave me a wonderful welcome when I arrived! She is such a smashing little girl with a very waggy tail who loves to be cuddled....I will be very jealous of the lucky family who get to take her home. :)) Ruth redressed Teddy's paw this afternoon. It looks a little sore. All washed and clean now, do hope it heals well. Xx Thanks to everyone for all their help today. we are so very grateful. :)) Xxx

How cool to have a dog called Turbo! I'd love him but unfortunately due to medical reasons my driving licence has been suspended till august 2019 so cant fetch him 🙁 i could just see him tearing up Newport beach in the evenings and round our lakes lol, best wishes Turbo my boy dont think you'll be there long x

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

We really enjoyed our visit to Daybreaks today, we were made to feel very welcome as always by Kate, thank you Kate for trying to get Douggie to run around the sand run, it was hard work as he is just too lazy!!!. Thanks to Jess for her patience in trying to bath 1 reluctant hound and 1 extremely reluctant hound, Douggie was not happy at all bless him. There are so many lovely hounds at Daybreaks waiting for their special homes to come along, I could have stolen Latina, Lady, Brandy.....all of them really, just hope at least some of them finds a home this weekend, especially the long stayers xxxxxxxx
