The lovely Petal has found her forever home with us as of today.She and Jay get on so well together,one or two little things to iron out but we will get there. So sad to see some of the lovely grey boys being returned,it must be so confusing for the poor lads

I know this lovely boy so,please please some one give him a forever home.He is so loving,has lived in a home with another grey ,he is a joy. By the way we have adopter Petal as of today,she wont be going back!!

Ruth - you & your team go way above & beyond what you do for the greys. You certainly cannot do any more. Yes there are lows for you but always remember there are loads of highs. Nifty sends you a special cuddle to cheer you up

I knew something was wrong when TC came to get me wearing a pink one piece body suit (at least I assume that is what it is as he wears it when he washes). I was taken upstairs and my collar was taken off (gulp). Mom was also in her pink body suit and she was using that voice that is telling you everything is alright, even though you know it isn't! The purple scrunchie thing appeared and I started getting wet - then mom pushed me under the rain machine, I tried to get to the door but it was shut, next the waterboarding started. It was much worse than last time. Finally it was over, I was rubbed and rubbed and rubbed with a towel after being treated like a window. At last the door opened and I bolted for the stairs - phew! A little later mom gave me a meaty bone and then I got sausages for lunch. Maybe not so bad after all??? Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Ruth my love, think of all the wonderful hounds who have found their forever home because of you and your gang work so very very hard to give them a better life. Many more adoptions are successful than fail. You all do an amazing job bring love and homes to these hounds. I dread the day you have no hounds to rehome as it will mean that the breed is at real risk of dying out and that would be such a huge shame. As always your hard work will bring homes. I just wish TC would let me have a brother or sister for Florence (he threatened divorce last time I mentioned it). Xxx

Sadly Buddy (Brandy) has been returned to the kennels today. He and the family's existing Greyhounds were not getting along. He is a very loving and friendly lad who loves people and they feel in the right environment he would thrive. They are devastated to have to return him.

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Ruth you are my hero. The work you and all at Daybreaks do is amazing and must take so much out of you physically and even more emotionally. You can not do more than you do to get the waiting lists down. The problem lies with track closures since racing boomed in the 20s to over 100 tracks. I believe we are now down to nearly single figures around the country, and not sure if the same number of greys are being bread as then. Without the RGT and all you wonderful people we could never even keep track of what happens to these beautiful hounds who add so much to our lives (wonder boy foxy is a great example even if he has been a git--- at times he is your sweet soul lol) So come on, you will never loose your passion gal, we won't let you, just sometimes you need to be told you can do no more than you do. We and the hounds love you very much xx

To anyone thinking about adopting a Greyhound please remember we have thousands here in the UK waiting for their forever sofas. Also remember for every grey homed from Daybreaks another can come in from our waiting list.
