Foxy
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Today my little fella ran free. Foxy was just 14 weeks old when he was left at a vets with terrible injuries. For the last 12 1/2 years his fantastic personality has kept me on my toes - sleep tight Uppy - I’ll miss you so much xxxx

Barney
Over the Rainbow Bridge
You are probably wondering what I’ve been up to. Well I still like food. I do pinch daddy’s biscuits occasionally, don’t tell him! I’ve learnt how to get food off my wonderful family. Want to know? Well all you do is go up to where the treats are kept, in my case the special draw, and start sniffing to get your family’s attention. Then put the ‘I’ve never been fed face’ on and your family should bounce up and give you a treat. It’s very good. Barney Xx

Diddy
Over the Rainbow Bridge
I had the pleasure of walking Diddy today and he is still the lovely boy I remember from his previous stay. He stood nicely while I leaded him up, walked beautifully, leaned against me if we stood still and enjoyed a cuddle when I returned him to his kennel. Really hope someone can give this boy a chance. Sending him a cuddle tonight. Xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
Well I survived the day. All dogs able to go on walks did so this morning thanks to our Wednesday walkers. This afternoon as we were very low on volunteers they all had a lovely groom. It was lovely to see Jill back after her holiday looking really well. We had 2 new arrivals, Jet, a bouncy playful boy and Rosy, a lovely sweet little girl. They managed to have their welcome bath and be put on the website. The phone went crazy this afternoon, so Denise ended out doing the bathings and then feeding all the kennel dogs. Diddy was a little unsettled, so he spent the afternoon in the office with me whilst I booked in our new arrivals watching the coming and goings, when he had enough people watching he lay down beautifully. Hope I didn't break anything too badly. Horse is settling well as are Kenny and Pebbles, each have their own little quirks which each of their families are working on, just remember if you are worried or having any issues you would like help with, we are on the end of the phone to offer help, support and advice. Take care all. Jo xxx

Diddy
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Oh Diddy you are so like my boy Dylan, who is sadly now over Rainbow bridge. We adopted him after he had been sent down from RGT up north to try and find him a home as he had been a long time without one. He then waited 12 months at Monmore RGT until we found him, a little grey muzzled hound aged 6 who looked older than his years. They had nick-named him The Gent. I remember Pam D saying when she came to see me "look at that poor old soul". He turned out to be anything but. He had a leg removed aged 9 after a sudden break caused by cancer and lived a full and happy life for another 3 1/2 years. My favorite video of him is him running around our garden in the snow with our 3 other Greys, still fast and full of joy.I think he stayed around so long because he new he was so loved (just like Foxy). I hope someone can give Diddy a chance.I love Older black boys and girls but sometimes they can be overlooked with so many hounds needing a forever home. Maybe Diddy can be someone's Dylan. I hope so xx

Oh poor Teddy - they can be such baby’s can’t they? I didn’t know a grey could sob until Archive had his first lot of jabs, he screamed when they went in and then sobbed all the way home! And his castrate when I picked him up he fainted !! So they wouldn’t let him leave. Come to think of it I didn’t know that they could faint either. Xxxx

It was Teddy's turn to go to the vets today and Honey's turn to miss her kennel mate. Poor lad was not happy on his return. He lay on the floor of his kennel crying, I'm sure he must be very sore! 🙁 Sending him a big but gentle hug tonight! Xxx

So sad for Diddy. He really didn't want to be back at the kennels. I do hope he won't have to wait too long for a new home. Xxx
