    I’m Homed

Well Fat neck Finn has a new fan. My grandchildren visited today from Bristol and had not met him before only Nina who is a small gentle soul. The 2 1/2 year old has had a few scares with barking bouncy dogs in their village so went behind her mom as soon as big Finn came towards her. They looked at each other and I said "he only wants to say hello, give him a stroke" he wagged his tail and out she came, straight up to him " Can I give him a huggle nanny" she said which translated is a cross between a hug and a cuddle I was informed "of course" I replied "be gentle". Well what a "huggle" it was, a little dot just about shoulder height to this big black boy both loving it,total trust. All my Grey's have been wonderful with children, even the less confident ones, seem to have an affinity with each other. Mind you he was hoping there might be some food based treat in it from her. lol Bless

Fletch says he just doesn't have the will power to save anything edible and he would make sure Skip or Lyra didn't try it either! He is very impressed Moe saved the carrot long enough for it to go mouldy! :)) Xxx

It was a good plan Moe, next time try for some biscuits, they just crumble if you don't use them up. I don't like it when mom gets the noisy thing out to clear them away though! Lubs Florence xxx

Well, apparently if you happen to leave a carrot safely hidden away under your bed it goes mouldy and a bit smelly. Who would have thought it? I was only saving it in case mum ever forgets to feed me. You never know, it could happen. I knew something must be up because mum said “Oh my goodness” in a funny voice and moved quite quickly to the bin. I still got my treat though so all is well, love from Moe xxxx

  • 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

    I’m Homed

Three words for today - hot, hot, hot!! We had lots of helpers this morning and so the boys & girls had a gentle stroll under the trees in their cool coats - just enough to stretch their legs and do what needed to be done!! The kennels rang to the sounds of drilling and hammering during the day as the first of many DIY jobs that have needed doing for ages were tackled. The door in the kitchen run was repaired, but the drilling was upsetting little Pebbles, so I popped her out into the big run and went to get a duvet for her to lie on. Well, she decided to be very "helpy" and plonk herself down on the duvet before I could get the cover on it. She then tried to get in to the duvet cover, rolled all over the duvet so I couldn't get to it, and scraped the cover up into a heap! Eventually I did get the cover on the duvet, and we spent a lovely time having snuggles & cuddles. She is an absolute cutie, so affectionate and playful. x This afternoon was very hot & sticky so the boys & girls had a lovely cooling towel down which I think they all appreciated. We also had a viewing and more donations of bedding and towels - thanks so much. After a hot & tiring day, I am now ready for my usual Friday evening glass of chilled white wine! And I'll make my usual Friday wish that the weekend brings new homes for some of our beautiful boys & girls. Keep cool - Angie xx
