Hi Nicky, the news is not good I'm afraid, the stroke that Jack suffered was caused by a disk in his neck which had crumbled and punctured his spinal cord causing the blockage which caused the stroke, because it is near his neck the after effects are severe. He still cannot stand unaided and is very low. I have spoken with the vert this morning and he says with this kind of stroke the recovery usually picks up after 2 weeks but there has been no progress from Jack this week, he says if Jack is unable to support his weight within the next 2 weeks then it is unlikely that he will, and we should think about his quality of life. Jack's mood is very low and he is very frustrated which isn't helping his recovery, and we may need to assess the situation sooner. We are devastated for our boy but are still hoping and praying he starts to show some progress very soon, thank you for thinking about him, it means so much to us that so many people are rooting for him. Xxxxx

Well done to Rubytwoshoes for such good info on the boys and girls walks, I am sure it helps prospective adopters knowing more about the hounds than just seeing them in their kennels.. I wish I lived nearer to Daybreaks I would be out there with you. However maybe it would be a bad idea for me because I am sure in no time my husband would be saying"It's me or the 10 Greys you have bought home" I would miss him LOL

    I’m Homed

Well, what can I say. We were so very lucky to have our regular Wednesday walkers this morning. In addition we had volunteers from HSBC. Ruth showed them around and set them to work having a mass clear out. The back of the kennels now looks fab. The guys made 2 trips to the tip and the two lovely ladies did health checks on Nick and Winnie. They worked incredibly hard as did Freya our lovely work experience student, she did the feedings and also walks. Thanks to Denise and Sara Pill for all their hard work and help, much appreciated. Bounty now seems to be enjoying her food and is clearing her bowl at both breakfast and dinner ): Such a fab day, and work has started on the rest of the run, looks great. Everyone makes such an effort supporting the kennels, and if you do see me sitting in the office, I am still trying to accustomise myself to all af the admin processes (that is until I can work out how to download Solitaire)!!!!!!!

Ooh yes, can't wait to see the agility equipment! The new toys for the run are great. 🙂 It was a very nice trip to Pets at Home and spend money on the doggies! :)) Xxx
