Please keep our Katy in your thoughts, she's a bit poorly. She's had an unsettled tummy since we had her so she's had a few years done that have shown she has a problem with her bowel and potentially her kidneys too. She's on weekly injections and antibiotics to see if that helps before more tests are needed.

Well Finn has been on his first visit to our holiday lodge in Bude and he was such a good boy, although he did nick Nina's favorite spot in front of the picture window which has a view over farmland to the sea.(It is a dog friendly site, but they have to be kept on leads but can let off steam in the fenced in paddock there.) Unfortunately the window has a path in front which is for the people who are in the half a dozen other lodges, so not a lot of passers by, but it seems Finn needed to "make shapes" when they did. Legs in the air everything on show. It did cause a lot of laughs and I think he would make a good center page in "Playdog" seems a natural. lol.

  • 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

    I’m Homed

Another early start to the Daybreaks day saw Ruth off to the Vet to take Bounty and Eillie to be speyed. It was a lovely warm day and the boys & girls were able to go out on walks both this morning and this afternoon. It was a big day for Susie - Ruth removed the stitches from the wound on her face which has healed nicely, and then her new family arrived to sign on the dotted line and take her off to her new forever home. Although we are all delighted she has a lovely new home, there were a few tears shed as this special little lady left the premises. Wishing her and her new family many happy years ahead. Skip found himself the next lucky hound to start a new life today. The family that came to view instantly fell for him and so did their existing Greyhound. We always say that it's the dog that really chooses their family and in Skip's case it was so true. Other boys were looked at, but none had that instant bond with both dog & people. As we walked back to the kennels from the sand run after the meet & greet, Skip jumped into the family's open van and was very reluctant to get out! I think the deal was sealed at this point! Wishing them all a great new life together. I left a line of washing drying in the afternoon sun - but looking out of the window as I type this I am hoping those ominous black clouds keep on the move and don't deposit their load over the kennels! It's the weekend again, where is the time going to? I'll sign off with my usual weekend wish of more red signs for our beautiful boys & girls. Angie xx

Seeing Seren reserved today was the very best news! 🙂 A lovely family came along and fell in love with her. :)))). I know Lorraine will be very happy with Seren's choice. Xx We had a lot of helpers today :). So all the dogs enjoyed morning and afternoon walks. There were several visitors at the kennels when Sully came back from his walk and he made a point of introducing himself to everyone. 🙂 He is a really great lad! It was a lovely warm and sunny day and we have our fingers crossed we get the same on Sunday 1st July, Daybreaks 12th Birthday Party. Please come along and help us to celebrate. 🙂 We are hoping to have a nice big "booze" hamper for a raffle prize so would be so grateful if anyone can spare a bottle of something to add to the basket! If you do please just drop it in to the kennels. Thanks so much. :))) Xxx
