I took the lovely Petal on the Brueton Walk today, she was really good and walked lovely on the lead, the only time she pulled was when the little fluffy doggies kept running past her, poor girl, they really did wind her up... Once out of sight, she happily walked past dogs that were on leads... She travelled fantastically and happily went to sleep in the back of the van with cillabella. She really is a character. Xxx

    I’m Homed

Well what a funny day... Andy got in early as some of our residents were a little worried about the thunder... So by the time I got in, top block was nearly clean.... Whilst Andy went to check on the fur boss, Foxy and crew, I carried on cleaning.. It was then time to get ready for the Brueton Walk, with 6 of our residents (one of which was our current longest stayer Rory) getting there feet ready for a lovely hour walk... All behaved extremely well with Roy and Saddle not reacting much at all to small dogs running loose, well done Jess, you really are a calming influence on them. The residents left at the kennels all went on a lovely walk and had grooms afterwards. On our return, all hounds were happy of a lie down, surprisingly that also included Saddle and Roy who decided that Andy needed to go give them a cuddle so they could go to sleep across his lap... Due to the weather, we couldn't do afternoon walks but managed to give them some time in the run..... After dinner all the residents happily went straight to sleep, here's hoping the thunder stays away, so Ruth and Andy don't have to calm 16 stressed dogs down... Poor babies, it isn't nice seeing them like that. Sleep tight all, hope everyone gets a rest full sleep. X

Lovely to hear that the walk went well and the kennel hounds got a change of scenery and became just doggies out for a walk. Hope that the awful thunder and lightening storms are not upsetting them too much. Our Nina gets in a terrible state with them and fireworks to. No amount of Bach Flower drops even touch her panic so vet has given us some meds to keep in, which I was very grateful for. Poor girl cannot even think about her dinner. However Finlay said it will be no problem for him to help out by having her share as well.!!! and if anyone out there has the same trouble he could probably pop round to help you out as well.He is gently moving into pet mode now and when I call him over for a fuss and ear rub he no longer checks my hands out first to see if there is a treat in them. He has realized that hands can give you a lovely calming feeling just by their contact that is as good as a treat, well almost ! lol I wish I lived nearer to Daybreaks so I could help out but can I say thank you to all you guys who give up so much time to these lovely Greys' xx

We have had this girl a year now and she has come on so well, really proud of her. She was so timid and scared of her own shadow but to see her now is fantastic. Being able to let her off the lead and see her run is the most amazing feeling, at times it hasn't been easy but love her to bits and I hope you would be happy with how far she had come x

I went to Brueton Park for my walk today and there were loads of other Greyhounds there! I had a fantastic time meeting them all and having lots of fuss from the big people. Mom tried to get TC to adopt Roy and Saddle, Rory, Sully, Susie or Petal but he had his 'No!' face on. Hoping they get their forever sofas soon. Florence xxx

Well today has been very dramatic. We had an hour drive all the way to a caravan. It honestly looks like a lorry with stairs. We were supposed to go at Easter but it was cancelled because of the flood. There is a lot of thunder which caused a lot more drama. I ended up under a caravan next to ours. I was stuck. I caught my leg on a brick. The leg I caught it on was the leg that was bleeding before which means it started bleeding again. Good thing my sister packed all the first aid stuff. Not a good start for a little holiday. Still thunder to come 🙁 Barney Xx

Hi everyone,Sully here. I am very greytful for Alan taking me to the Brueton Park Walk today. I had a super time finding my way out in the big wide world. I did find myself getting a bit excited when I first came out of my kennel but this didn't last too long and I soon settled down in the car on my to the park. We had a lovely walk round with many of my hound friends.I did see some funny dogs who were small and not greyhounds running around, I gave them all a slight glance and carried on uninterested in them as I had so much to see and many wees to do! When we stopped on the way round I made sure I did plenty of leaning in true greyhound style. Well i'm relaxing now back in my kennel after a long drink. I did hear people say what a good boy I was, well I won't argue with that. I just want to be someones best friend, why not come and see me and maybe we can go for walks. Hope to see you soon, love Sully xxx

Thanks lisa 1875 for taking Rory out this morning. He's my current favourite, my current phone screensaver and I love him to bits! I agree he is a lovely chap, and he makes me smile when he "talks" to you - we have quite lengthy conversations on occasion! Such a friendly boy, I cant quite understand why he's had no interest shown in him yet. Big cuddles to a special boy. xx

We had the pleasure of taking gorgeous Rory to Bruton park today. What a lovely chap he is. He wanted to join in with the fun when he saw other dogs running off lead but he understands no and walked beautifully. He liked the trip in the van with our two and likes children and squeaky toys ????. Love him. X

A damp morning which changed into a very pleasent afternoon. 🙂 Shirley came in to tidy up the plants in the kennels, she got distracted several times by a certain young man call Brandy who was sitting out in one of the runs. After a lovely groom she took him into the sand run for a play. 🙂 Needless to say she didn't get her planting finished! Thanks to everyone who came in to help today. :)) It was great to see Seren/Jingle today. She is such a sweet girl. It you would like to meet her or any of our fabulous boys and girls please pop into the kennels. If anyone is looking for the boomerang that was in the sand run, I have a confession to make...I threw it and sadly it didn't come back! I will go and look for it on the other side of the fence next week, sorry! 🙂 Xxx
