2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Sounds like a great day at Daybreaks, hounds off to new homes and bookings for the weekend, fingers crossed. Think maybe a "Home one, get one free" weekend may be a success, Grey's are used to a kennel mate so makes good sense LOL. Finlay and Nina are off to the seaside for a few days to our place in Bude. As soon as he saw their beds and bag of treats loaded into people (hound) carrier he suddenly became enthusiastic. Think he will like the break. Nina loves it there.He is quite chilled at the moment as spent a long time today on the patio fixated on obtaining one of the coconuts filled with fat hanging on the fence for the blue tits. Looked like he was meditating,and lining up his chakras !!! Pity he reverted to his keen hound mode when the squirrel came a calling along the fence, scattered his meridians straight away lol

Oh, how sad, cannot begin to think about how confused she will be after nearly a year in a home. I don't know the story, just feel so sorry for Roxy, but better be back at Daybreaks where I am sure she will be found a new forever home again soon. Fingers crossed sweetie x

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Another busy, busy day at Daybreaks today. I took the lovely Brandy to the Vets this morning for his vaccination, leaving Ruth ensconced in the office to do the first of today's trio of homings! I only just had time to say hello to Oscar before his new Mum and Greyhound sister came to see him and take him home. It was Ray's turn next to vacate his kennel and start his new life - he has a lovely new name too, Jay. I did let Ruth out of the office at lunchtime to have a walk round in the fresh air, lol!!! but then it was back to it, as it was Rory's turn to take the first steps to his new life. I managed to have some very lovely cuddles with him before his new Dad whisked him off, looking very handsome in his Batman collar and coordinating yellow muzzle. Wishing all our newly homed hounds and their families many happy years ahead. Susie spent the day in the kitchen with Foxy, she is healing well and is still her playful, happy self. She is such a sweetheart, who does like to lie in the most inconvenient of places!! She was blocking the kitchen door with her legs and had her bum under the fire extinguisher!! Still, she was comfy. xx Lots of help today meant the boys & girls had 2 walks and some playtime in the run too. A big thank you for the generous donations of duvets and bedding today, most welcome. Another weekend is upon us, and there are some more viewings booked so fingers crossed the red sign trend continues. It is the Great Global Greyhound Walk on Sunday and some of our residents will be taking part in the walk through Brueton Park, hopefully raising awareness of what amazing pets this beautiful breed make and maybe generating some interest and a new home or two. Sadly Roxy is being returned tomorrow after an incident with a cat 🙁 She has been in a home since July 2017.
