Nifty had a fantastic Christmas & New year. He was spoiled rotten & will be visiting Daybreaks soon to have a run in the sandpit. He sends everyone his love,and just to let all his fans know he has been perfect so far he's been such a good boy,we are so glad he waited for us xxx

Sounds like Vera is doing her best to win her foster parents over. That's exactly what happened with our Ollie (Vinny). and we ended up adding him to our trio to make 4 children oops sorry hounds! Another one didn't cause any more problems and in actual fact evened things off well. We each had 2 Greys each to walk together LOL. These lovely gentle dogs try so hard to please you to find their forever home, it's very hard to resist those eyes and not give them a chance. I can see how hard it will be for fosterer's to return the Christmas lodgers, but you have to be sure what's best for you and the hound before you can commit and at least they will be able to tell prospective visitors to the kennels all about how the dog and their habits so it will help the new owner. Well done to you all for giving the Greys a taste of what's to come in their retirement. Happy New Year to you all.

Come on people don't be shy Please someone give this boy a try Cos in the kennels he struggles to cope But in a home he knows the ropes All he needs is a comfy bed Somewhere soft to rest his head Some lovely food to fill his tum And a few nice toys to have some fun He watches people pass him by He really does not undersntand why Don't pass the kennels, don't drive by Please someone give this boy a home And maybe some delicious gravy bones A decision you will NEVER regret

Just thought I would re-post this in the hope..... Benny's turn......... There is a dog at Daybreaks, Benny is his name He's waited long and patiently, it's such a crying shame He's seen so many come and go And really does not know Why he is not chosen Why he is not the one to go What he really, really needs is somewhere to call home Somewhere warm and comfy with an occasional jumbone They really do not ask for much, but have so much to give So please that special person give this boy somewhere to live I've seen the gorgeous Benny many many times And if someone gives this boy a home I'll stop these silly rhymes! And if the promise of that doesn't work, I don't know what will. That must be an incentive! Hugs and kisses Benny boy. Xxxxxx

Its been another exciting day for Vera. We took advantage of the milder weather to walk up to the garden centre for morning coffee on the patio café - where Vera discovered the delights of toast!! She was a little bit wary as the wind was making strange howling sounds through the bamboo panels and blowing pots and other objects around, so she didn't lie down, cant say I blame her! Other than that she was as good as gold and took her titbits of toast very gently, as she does with all treats given to her. She is like a sponge, absorbing each new experience and being readily reassured when something (like the wind) is a bit scary. She has also played with a treat ball this afternoon, managing to release most of the treats - but it kept rolling away so in the end she grabbed it and took it up on the sofa - sandwiched between her front paws - to try to remove the rest! She is now spark out snoring gently - bless her, I shall really miss her when she returns to the kennels next week, she has been an absolute dream to be with. xx
