Grandchildren over for lunch today aged 6 and 2 and wasn't sure what to expect as they don't have much contact with dogs and Nina our Grey only sees local children on walks. The 2 year is only as tall as her so I thought she may be a little frightened.. It was love at first sight. Nina stood in the doorway of the lounge and the little one walked over put her head on Nina's shoulder and stroked her. Nina was a little anxious eyed at first but both girls took it slowly and when they left Nina wanted to go with them. The 6 year old asked her dad whilst lying on the floor with her "Can we have a dog like her daddy, she; so sweet and kind?" Spending the day with a Grey would help any child who was unsure or afraid of dogs, such gentle giants. Nina is flat out in her bed now snoring surrounded by her toys that she got out to show the girls. lol Bless

Hey, what happened - just went for my nighttime walk and yuck. Lots for wet white stuff!?! The white stuff we had last week was LOVELY, this was horrid! Walked really fast and guided TC home ASAP. Florence xxx

Hello it’s me again, Kitty. Me and Moe and mum had two long walks today in the sunshine but it’s raining now so our bedtime walk was very short, good, I didn’t like getting wet. One of the sunshiney walks was through fields and there were loads of good smells. Moe finds them and I go and have a sniff too. I got a bit more tired than Moe but he says his bestest day is breakfast, snooze, walk, snooze, walk, snooze, walk, snooze, dinner, walk, bed so I s’pose he’s more used to walking and he is a lot bigger than me too but I did really really well. Mum says we both walked very nicely on our leads. But she did also tell Jon that it takes an extra ten minutes at either end of the walk to persuade us to get in the car. Moe says it’s his cunning plan. If we don’t get in straight away then mum usually finds some treats in her bag. Moe is very clever like that. Mum says he can twist her round his little paw. My paws are much smaller than Moe’s so I wonder if I can do that too? Mum says she would not be at all surprised. Night night everyone x

Soooo, after a day of wild excitement - I got a new toy and a new blanket and some lovely roast potatoes before going to see Barney and explore his garden with him, lovely new smells to sniff at - I am told it is Boxing Day? I see no boxes but mom, TC and I went for a very long walk. I say very long cos it took over an hour but if it had just been TC and me we'd have been 30mins. Mom was very proud of herself for walking so far but had a long sleep this afternoon! When she and TC have a drink he says "I would toast your good health but there seems little point", hopefully the move to the lumpy piece of ground will help. Doesn't look very comfy and warm though!?? Hope all the Daybreaks hounds are enjoying their holibobs. Florence xxx

Happy Christmas Benny boy! Hope you're having a lovely time in a home. Love to your foster parents and all other pooches and foster parents! You're all doing a fabulous job as do all the staff and volunteers all year round. You're very lucky hounds to have them all! Jet sends Christmas love and kisses but is currently very busy eating all his presents from Santa...as well as the cats presents then wonders why one told him off! Xxx

This is truly a Happy Christmas for Lyra. How lovely that Kate, John, Skip & Fletch have welcomed you into their family after such sadness. A proper ho ho ho to you! I dropped the lovely little Holly off to her foster home last night.... She was so happy.... Think we def have a new ffc member on the cards.... I'm so happy as I will get to see the little lady every day as she will only be next door... Here's hoping her sign goes green. X

Well apparently it Christmas!!!!! I wasn’t expecting my sister to come to me with a stocking full of treats and toys!!!! I’m so happy and excited for the rest of the day. I also have a new Christmas jumper which I will be wearing today. I also got a lot of treats from family friends. I love Christmas!!! Barney xx Merry Christmas everyone!

I have a little girl asleep on the sofa next to me, so now seems a good time to change her red sign to a green one! As it's the start of a new life for her we have decided to give her a new name too. Lots of names have been discussed but we have finally decided to call her Lyra - the name of a small constellation. We think it suits her...John also liked Nut, Egyptian goddess of the sky! :))) We are looking forward to sharing our Christmas with Lyra, Fletcher and super Skip. Xxx Xxx

Hi every one, I can report we did have fishy and mashed potato AND then our normal dinner, get that eh! Luvbly Jubly it was, and apparently we are on the promise of a Christmas dinner, I seem to remember something last year but can't really remember what it was but mom said it was special, so just wondering if this is going to live up to fishy and tatoes, hoping so. Nightly, night all, sleeps tight, hope Santa brings you all something nice. Xxxxxx

Shandys first Christmas in a home and I can’t wait to see her open her presents in the morning...she is going to go barmy with the squeaky ball. She’s only been with us for a month but has settled so well, welcomes everyone, loves her walks and it is a joy to have her in our lives. We wish everyone a very merry Christmas and hope all the greys on foster have a great time and find their forever sofas soon...and to our special girl Ella who only went to rainbow bridge recently we hope your having some fun up there.

Have a lovely Christmas Skye and hope next year brings your forever home. I was reading the RIPs from owners of their lost beloved hounds. When I hung my heart on the remembrance tree at Daybreaks for my 4 Greys that had gone over Rainbow bridge I said to Ruth "If it's true that all our past faithful dogs wait for us on the other side of the Bridge, then you and I are in big trouble! We will be caught in a stampede" What joy that would bring. RIP Dylan, Izzy, Cara (pearl) Ollie (Vinny) missing you still x
