Well the walk in the park was great fun, squirrels to chase and I was let of the lead to run with Barney and Acer. Acer likes to play with a small round thing that squeaks all the time - I just can't understand why! If the moms and dads throw it she gets it and brings it back? Mom used it to teach her to give a paw..... Everyone had gone home now after the present swap, I got a squeaky pig!!! I'm relaxing in my chair chair now and mom is drinking some funny smelling red stuff from a posh glass..... Much love to Auntie Ruth, Auntie Kate, Auntie Sarah and everyone else who helps us hounds at Daybreaks. To the hounds at foster homes - you know what to do guys!!! Enjoy every minute. Happy Christmas one and all. Florence, mom and TC. Xxxx

Mary is great!! I know Ruth was worried about her chewing but she hasn't chewed anything she shouldn't have (yet!), we haven't felt any need to muzzle her inside. She was very "busy" the first day but obviously everything was new to her. She has settled down really quickly. She walks very well on her lead. She gets on fine with our own greyhound, Molly. She loves her fuss and lies on the sofa with her head on the kids laps. She is a lovely girl. xxx

Daisydog and I are sending happy Christmas wags and mince pie smiles to everyone who remembers us!! The girl still shines every day and is much loved by all her seaside pals. Special thoughts at this time of year for all the greys we have loved and lost - so a big shout out for my crew at the bridge - Ace, George, Frank, and Bouncer. Always in my heart. Xx

Spotty dog has spent the day at the vets today. X-rays showed the reason for her limping was a foreign body In a pad on her right paw and a corn on her left paw. All sorted now...she has a big purple bandage on the left leg, so won't be able to do very much "rocking around the Christmas tree" for the next few days. She is so quiet tonight; very sleepy after the anaesthetic, not one toy played with!! Think the boys prefer her this way :)) Thanks so much to Chris at Fivelands Vets for taking care of her. Xxx

Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all the lovely people at Daybreaks. Thank you for looking after me in 2017 and helping me to find my forever home. I love being in a home - it’s getting quite exciting here at the moment. There’s this funny tree with decorations hanging on it. I had a sniff but mummy said “leave it” so I left it because I’m a good girl. But nobody said anything about the gingerbread biscuits my sister was decorating so I decided they were fair game. I thought it would be fun to make paw prints in some icing sugar. Does that mean I’m still a good girl?

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all our friends at Daybreaks, I can't beleive it's my 2nd Christmas with my new family. I'm still living the dream. I'm still as nervous as ever but my mom says it doesn't matter because she'll always protect me. My big sister Dutchess is slowing down but she can still run round the garden with me and give as good as she gets. Love to you all and keep up the good work. Susie and Dutchess x x

Benny
I’m Homed
Just read Benny's sad tale of re-homing. We homed our lovely fawn girl Pearl from Daybreaks years ago after she had been brought back because they had small children who she knocked over in her playfulness. She was very confused and anxious for some time as she had no idea what she had done to upset them and had bonded with the man of the house. Every time she saw or heard a little child when we where out she got so excited to see if it was "her family" coming for her. She came to love us and trust that she had found her "forever home" with our 3 other Greys. But for a while she was my little lost soul looking for approval and frightened of loosing us too, We have always taken hounds who have been the longest in kennels and they have rewarded us tenfold. I hope Benny will have the magic of Christmas touch him. Good luck Benny you are never too old to find your soul mates.

I can imagine Casey will be spoiled this Christmas making up for all the others...if it’s Benny that is still in the kennels that was working with him at the prison I really hope he has a nice time too on foster as they both deserve it after their extended time in Kennels and not in a forever home.HAPPY CHRISTMAS too you all I hope you have a great one xxx
