We had had two beautiful little girls arrive today...both Blue, they look like sisters. :)) Shirley and Louisa gave them a bath and health check. Jaz is just two years old and not three until October. They are both lovely. Xxx Rob popped in with newly homed Penny. She looked very happy and has already got her Dad firmly wrapped around all four paws! :)) Xxx Many thanks to Alan and Richard for going to the warehouse for supplies. IMPORTANT TRAFFIC INFORMATION FOR STAFF, VOLUNTEERS AND VISITORS TO THE KENNELS: The slip road onto the A45 at the airport island has been CLOSED due to roadworks. This closure is going to last 6 months. Please plan your journeys ahead to count for this closure if it affects you. If you normally turn around at this island to rejoin the A45, you will need to head to the M42 island or the Stone Bridge island to turn around and back onto the A45

Daybreaks Diary!

Thanks to Denise for opening up as usual on a Wednesday. We were very short of volunteers as Two of our Wednesday walkers were not in, so thanks to Deb, Paul, Laura and Denise the dogs had morning walks. Gill arrived in time to take a dog out. Laura was kept busy with Pampers and Noah did most of the teeth cleaning and grooming. This afternoon we were even shorter of help. Laura stayed and helped with feeding and cleaning the runs down, Denise also stayed later than usual, I've thanked her a couple of times already so won't do again as she will get big headed and think she is special!!!! Lol. Thanks to everyone who came in with donations of bedding and treats for the inmates.

This amazing little munchkin absolutely smashed it last night. She was very curious of her new surroundings and got to know where home is, all being happy waggy tailed. She listens to the new name Penny. Loved exploring the long garden. Played straight away with toys that were new and from our previous dog which haven't left our garden since. Eaten her dinner as expected. Sits and lies down beautifully on her beds, and loves to jump up on ours! Stairs were an issue at first so it was planned for me to sleep downstairs with her the first night but out the blue she flew upstairs, and straight down this morning when we woke up. We love this girl to bits and we are so happy we have her. I never really understood how I would feel but it truly is amazing and I cannot thank the team at the kennels enough. So on second note, massive thank you to everyone there. Staff, volunteers and all those that help do what they do!! Truf Truf was in the run next to Steve at dinner time...whilst they were waiting for their meals to arrive Steve was desperately trying to get her attention by play bowing and jumping around! She was not impressed at all looked at him growled a couple of times and then ignored him. :)) A case of unrequited love I think!! Xxx

Emer, now called Penny went off to her new home today. :)) Despite only being with us a few days it was lovely to see how quickly she settled at the kennels...from being a very quiet girl to a bouncy, happy little soul who clearly has a mischievous character. :)) Sure this will emerge in her new home! Wishing her and her family lots of great times together. :))) Xxx

Sparky paid his first visit to Elmdon Park today and behaved perfectly. He was very happy meeting other breeds and people.. As it was his first Park visit he was keen on the lead but soon settled A very friendly lad who will be a great asset to his future home

Daybreaks Diary!

As it is the half term holiday this week our students were not in...so it left us "oldies" to take care of things today. :)) Vonnie, Linda and I were greeted by lots of happy dogs first thing including a rather grubby Truf Truf who had managed to roll in poo again! We gave her a quick rub down so she could have her breakfast and after the cleaning and feeding was completed, Linda gave her a bath. Truf really is a super little girl who will bring lots of joy to the family who gets to take her home. :)) Louisa and Myra joined us later in the morning, so all of the residents got a chance to enjoy the spring like weather either on a walk or in the sand run. This afternoon, for the first time in months walks were taken without coats! :)) Jude spent a good part of the morning ordering Martingale collars, so we should have them for sale in the next couple of weeks. :)) We also had a delivery from Burns and thanks to our lovely friends Phil and Sylvia a delivery from Iceland of food for the dogs and supplies for the kennels. We are so grateful to them. Xxx Before we knew it, it was time for dinner and bed! All of our residents had a Dentastix and obviously bedtime cuddles! :)) Thanks to everyone for your help! Xxx

Truf Truf

I love Truf Truf - she has been limping so during our hectic Saturday I had a look at her foot - however all she wanted was tummy rubs - she is so very affectionate - I just can't understand why she has not been snapped up! The lovely little Stacy had an upset tum in the week - we are not sure if it was the Metacam or her reaction to the anaesthetic or the piece of cake she stole in the office so I have been taking her home. She is a sweet little thing and is off to her new home very soon.

Truf Truf

Truf truf is such a funny girl. She lies on the floor of her kennel with what looks like about 8 legs all at various angles up the wall. She appears to find this comfortable! It doesnt take her long to untangle herself when she sees the lead though. Lovely pretty girl. Xx
