Daybreaks Diary!

At last! It was a little warmer today! :)) Beautiful Ellen, now called Izzy went home this morning. What a wonderful Christmas present for her. Xxx Rocky went out for a trip to the park with Kitty and her family. He had a great time and they said he was such a good boy! It must be his turn to find his forever home soon. Xxx Many thanks to our volunteers for all their help today with walking, grooming, teeth cleaning and health checks for our boys and girls. Xxx The award for best Christmas outfit today went to lovely Jag who came in for a nail clipping dressed in his fab red and green elf coat complete with bells! :)) What a handsome boy! Xxx We also had a visit from previous resident Ruby Rebel and his Dad, lovely to see them both. :)) Xxx We also had one brave girl who came in for a pamper...we did warm the room up first! Xxx Thanks so much to Jess for helping with feeding this afternoon. :)) Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

On arrival at Daybreaks this morning my car thermometer said it was -8!!! Fortunately the residents were all toasty in their kennels, and although it looked quite festive with the extremely heavy frost resembling a covering of snow, I am not sure they appreciated me warbling Christmas carols along to Classic FM as I cleaned! The sun did warm things up a bit, but the morning walk was very bracing - I think the doggies were happy to get back their heated kennels, we were certainly happy to get our hands round a nice hot cup of coffee! Stay safe everyone and keep yourselves and your hounds warm. Angie x

Yesterday I collected Kitty from Ruth's and brought her to Daybreaks where she was taken on foster in the afternoon. She travelled well and I hardly knew she was there. She is lovely and needs a her forever home, the best thing Santa could bring her xx

Kitty came home with me this afternoon. She travelled well and she’s found the HUGE crate we have for any (canine) visitors who like that sort of thing. She’s very quiet and didn’t fancy the dinner queue so she had two small bowls of food through the evening. She’s toileted outside with the gang last thing and gone to bed with a biscuit.

It’s been a busy few days… on Sunday I headed over to Rugby to collect Arthur who had gone on trial. Unfortunately he was not settling so I took him back to his foster home in Cannock with a warehouse run thrown in on route! I still have Kitty at home who was speyed on Friday. She has been quite poorly and ended up on a drip yesterday. She is doing much better and today ate some chicken! She is such a sweet girl.

It was so very cold again today, not good when you are full of cold! It was a good start with Jim being signed up, I would like to say welcome to the failed foster club but they have failed on more than one occasion! Very sadly one of our resident chickens crossed the Rainbow bridge, she seemed fine when Denise went to feed them but very shortly after was found to have passed away. Fly high Pepper. Pearl found herself reserved and Ellen had a visit from her family. Thanks to everyone for their help today and for the donations of bedding and monetary donations, so very kind. Trying to warm up now!!
