It was so very cold again today, not good when you are full of cold! It was a good start with Jim being signed up, I would like to say welcome to the failed foster club but they have failed on more than one occasion! Very sadly one of our resident chickens crossed the Rainbow bridge, she seemed fine when Denise went to feed them but very shortly after was found to have passed away. Fly high Pepper. Pearl found herself reserved and Ellen had a visit from her family. Thanks to everyone for their help today and for the donations of bedding and monetary donations, so very kind. Trying to warm up now!!

Daybreaks Diary!

If anything I think it was even colder this morning - even the hosepipe was frozen which meant relays of buckets for cleaning this morning!! However, all the residents receive my Gold Star clean kennels award today - certainly made cleaning out much easier & quicker, great for the boys & girls impatient to get back into their snuggly beds. It is the lovely Laura’s turn to go home today, wishing her all the best in her new home. X Stay safe & warm everyone. Angie xx

I picked up the gorgeous Kitty from Fivelands yesterday after her neutering and took her home. She has been an absolute angel and slept soundly last night. She is so sweet and I am hoping she finds her forever home very soon x

Over the Rainbow Bridge
An update on Josh as you may remember he is very loving but his behaviour when he lies down can be aggressive. To date, he has had a medical consultation, which resulted in an x-ray (all clear). He has received treatment from a chiropractor. Wendy Lymer (the chiropractor) has found many little issues that may or may not impact his behaviour. I have seen small improvements in his behaviour. For the last three weeks, he has been on Metacam and Gabapentin. I have seen a dramatic change in him. Last week was not his best, but it is easy to manage and maybe the full moon played its part. We now need to understand why. Is it the sedation effect of the medication or is it neurological? The behaviourist will be getting involved. We are still some way from being able to rehome him. With the support from Daybreaks, I will keep working with him to where we need him to be for rehoming. The good news is, we are making positive progress.

Daybreaks Diary!

It was ffffreezing this morning!!! but when I opened up all the boys & girls were cosy and snug with their under bed heating and fleecy coats. Jo was on the vet run first thing, taking Kitty off to be speyed. She wasn't too impressed watching all her friends come out for their breakfasts and she couldn't join in!!!! Despite being so very cold, the sunshine was lovely and the inmates enjoyed a lovely walk this morning. New girl Pearl was very keen indeed to get out & about!!! She just needs to learn that she can now walk for pleasure, and doesn't need to forge ahead like a train!! Just a quick reminder that our lovely 2023 calendars are on sale, as well as tickets for our Grand Christmas Draw. Every penny will go towards looking after the beautiful boys & girls in our care.
