Gorgeous Mia was speyed today at Fivelands. She has come back very bright and has eaten her dinner. Apparently she nearly found herself a home at the vets! She is a very loving and happy girl but just needs a strong handler and firm owner.

I met Sully on Monday for the first time and as Stormin said, he is a lovely friendly boy and yes I'm sure that with the relevant training and time he will realise that there is very little to get over excited by in the world outside of the kennels. Big cuddles Sully xx

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Sully paid a visit to Elmdon Park today. Although you would never meet a more laid back lad in the kennels he surprisingly became quite overwhelmed with things while in the park. The sight of a small white dog got him very excited and he continuously pulled on the lead in a very strong manner for the rest of the walk. This very people friendly lad I think will need someone with the confidence to handle him while out and about when he finds his future home but I'm sure in time he will adjust to the big wide world

Oh my word JetJucy, what a fantastic amount Ryan has raised, I know you will be so proud and bursting with pride. I agree that Jet would have been by his side throughout, probably with several other of our Daybreaks dogs pushing him on. God bless you all for your support. Jo and the furry four. X

I went to visit the gorgeous Archie in his new home in Malvern, three weeks after his adoption - he is SO HAPPY! He is the picture of health and enjoying his 4 walks a day and the house has toys everywhere! I couldn't be happier for him!

    I’m Homed

I took Peril with me to the Camping and Caravaning with Greyhounds and Sighthounds meet at the weekend. This was organised by a friend of mine, Dave, who adopted Natalie earlier this year. A family fell in love with Peril and took her on trial with their three beautiful greyhounds. I have had reports that she is doing so well - I am so pleased!

Jetlucy, sending lots of congratulations to Ryan on raising a fantastic £505 for Daybreaks during his Tough Mudder Run today!! I'm sure you are right your lovely Jet was there with him in spirit; every step of the way...but certainly would not have liked to get his paws muddy! Thank you so much. Lots of love Kate Xxx

    I’m Homed

We were a few volunteers short today, despite that all of the inmates had morning and afternoon walks apart from Sully who seemed a little lame this afternoon and Mikey who had a lovely visit to Packwood House with Jackie and Ned Kitty's mom and dad. They said he was impeccably behaved as always, but today instead of his usual head and ears up he was very focused on a scent he picked up so was nose to the ground and he walked where he wanted to!! Bless him, he got back to the Kennels in time for dinner and promptly proceeded to lie on a bed with his tongue hanging out. I don't think he had the energy to reel it back in. He will sleep well tonight. X Thanks for taking him out, he really enjoys his outings with Kitty's family and with Liz, he has been to places I've not even been to!! The gorgeous Chloe went home today with a selection of coats for every e eventuality. Wishing her and her family all the best. Next to leave the building was our also gorgeous Mena (now Nina). She has gone home and will be with Dolly (now Molly) and three other greyhounds! She is so much more confident than when she arrived at the Kennels, I suspect she will turn into a cheeky girl with lots of personality. X

    I’m Homed

So Ryan managed the course in 1hr 19mins so has come back very pleased with himself! Last time we looked he'd got £505 on just giving and we know we've got a few little cash donations still to come which we'll pop in when we get back from holiday. Not a huge amount but hope we've helped! Jets collar came with me and waited at the finish line to cheer on his daddy and I made sure it was in the photos! I know he'd have been going round with him in spirit, I said as much as he followed us everywhere, he may not have done this race with you, after all he never did like getting his paws too muddy! Xxx

It was a quiet day for visitors ....no viewings today. 🙁 We do have some beautiful boys and girls hoping to soon find their forever homes. Xxx As it was quiet it gave us chance to get some jobs done. Sadly we have washed and stored the wet coats until next summer, which seems a long way away! We have had a delivery of lovely new Winter Fleeces, so if your Greyhound is starting to feel the Autumn chill please pop along and get them a nice snug fleece. Mine are wearing theirs already and have been sleeping much better. Winter Blizzards are next on our list to order. :)). We have also had a delivery of Martingale collars. 🙂 There are some great designs. :)) Tina carried out some Reiki sessions this afternoon. Mikey was one of her clients. Jill, one of our volunteers noticed how much calmer and relaxed he was after his Reiki. :)) Many thanks to everyone for your help today. Very much appreciated. :)) Xxx
