I spent time with Lucky in her kennel today. She Loves human company and responds really well to to cuddles. She is a beautifull young lady and she walks very well on the lead. Xxxx

What an absolutely gorgeous girl Karen. She walks beautifully on the lead. She loves strokes and especially ear rubs. She is going to be such a lovely pet. Massive cuddles for her tonight xxx

Lucky is such a fun girl! I took her into the sand run and she absolutely loved zoomies! She comes straight to you when called and is such a happy loving girl. Again, another that is a bit stressed in her kennel but we give her as much TLC as we can when we are here.

The gorgeous Bluey came home with me again last night. She is such a sweet girl and has been brilliant with the cats. She is gaining confidence so quickly and today has been taken out to foster with the lovely Cath to help her gain a little weight and confidence. x

I took Robbie to the vets today for his neutering. I have just picked him up from the vets and they all thought he was absolutely gorgeous!

Daybreaks Diary!

What an absolutely horrible morning it was. The weather forecast was horrendous, but thankfully it dried up and the inmates all had morning and afternoon walks. Thanks to everyone for their help today, at one point we thought we would have to occupy the kids with some games and touch training as the forecast was so bad. We were a couple of volunteers short, hoping that they will feel better soon. Not surprisingly it was very quiet for visitors, we had some bedding donated, thanks very much. Hoping for some better weather and some more viewings. All of our inmates are absolutely gorgeous. Please give the Kennels a call if you are interested in giving one of them a home. X

Daybreaks Diary!

A little late for Saturday's Diary! 🙂 It was a busy day which saw beautiful Jet go home. It was great to see Genie and her family again....Genie was and still is a real character! :)) I'm sure she will enjoy showing her new brother the big wide world. Xxx :)) Bluey had a viewing too, but having only recently lost their beloved previous dog the family felt it might be a little too soon for them to take another one home. I'm sure many of us know what a very difficult time It is...Xxx Thanks so much to everyone who donated bedding today. So kind of you. Xxx Thanks to everyone for your help today. Thanks so much to Angie and Michael for the early cleaning and feeding and of course to their lovely Minnie for supervising! Mikey went out for the day with kitty and her family. He was so happy to see them and had a great time. :)) Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

How nice to see the sunshine today after yesterday’s monsoon!! It was Gold Stars all round again this morning for clean, easy kennels - well done boys & girls. Duque was a happy boy, bouncing rather high in the run in anticipation of his “soggy” breakfast - food well soaked after his dental yesterday. Our Miss Minnie Moose loves accompanying us to the kennels on a Saturday, she just loves her Aunty Kate, likes greeting the other Greys (especially the boys!!!) and is now happy to receive some fuss from everyone who comes through the gate - she has made such progress bless her. We have some beautiful boys & girls in residence, all patiently waiting for their forever families to walk through the gate. Stay safe everyone, and keep your eye on the events calendar to keep up to date with what’s happening in the Daybreaks world. Angie xx

Daybreaks Diary!

What a very wet day we had but I still enjoyed it as we had extra indoor time with the inmates. I had the help from 6 volunteers from HSBC and they really enjoyed learning all about the breed and were very hands on with giving every dog a full health check! They took Mikey in the sand run and he loved showing off how fast he can run! Jo dropped off and I collected Duque from the vets - he is such a lovely lad. I have been taking Jet home with me and he is just fantastic. As we have 4 viewings booked for this weekend the Greyhound Board agreed I could keep him rather than him being transferred to a foster home up north. Thank you to Angie, Chris, Matthew, Suzy and Kayla for volunteering too. I have today finalised the proofs for next year’s calendar which should be available in about a week along with our Christmas cards!

Duque

Duque had his dental yesterday- 8 teeth out. As we have been told by his trainer he has not been neutered but has no ‘baubles’, blood tests were done to check his hormone levels as the vet didn’t want to open him up until 100% confirmed he’s not neutered! He is just adorable!
