Daybreaks Diary!

What an absolutely bonkers day! Early bird Angie was in first thing and along Mollie they sorted the residents whilst I took Tiggy to the vets for a dressing change for her broken toe. Back to the kennels we had a viewing and Zavi was reserved. We had our new arrival Chloe and a second viewing for Dolly and Mena found herself reserved also! Chris and Mollie walked their legs off taking all the inmates for their walks whilst I took Mikey and Mena into the sand run. Hmmm Mikey decided to run into my legs and I have a great video to show the evidence! During the afternoon after bathing new arrival Chloe, Chris took all the dogs in turn into the run whilst Mollie did weighing and health checks. The phone has been pretty non stop today so apologies to those who couldn't get through. A phone call from Chris in the run and I went to help her catch Mena as she didn't want to be caught!!!! Another viewing and then feeding soon quietened all the residents down and before we knew it, it was time to go home. Due to commitments I am unable to have Betty at home this weekend so she has been left at the kennels. As she has been so stressed I am desperately hoping it doesn't knock her back..... In the tradition of Angie - I will be pouring myself a lovely very LARGE glass of red medicine later!

Betty

I have been taking Betty home as she has been very stressed in the kennels - chewing the bars and barking as she is so unhappy. She had been in a home for a year so has been used to home comforts. She has been an absolute dream guest. She is house trained, loves her cuddles and is eating well. We are desperate to find her a home - she is strong on the lead and not great with other breeds so just needs a confident handler.

No surprise that this little girl is reserved after only arriving yesterday! She is going to be neutered and we will work on building her confidence - I am sure it won't take long as she ran back to me in the sand run this morning. It must have been the pate on toast I treated her to first thing!

Finally! The gorgeous Zavi has waited long enough and this morning he has been reserved. I am taking him to his fabulous new home in Malvern on Wednesday. This has made my day x

Archie (Zavi)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Our gorgeous little Zavi had some bike training earlier this week. He is quite reactive when a bicycle passes him out on a walk. Erik came along to the kennels to help. Ruth was the cyclist! He did really well and was much calmer at the end of the session. He is a very inquisitive boy and after his training he was very interested in watching Richard and Declan working in the sand run. :)) He is also great at telling the time, he knows when it's time for breakfast, walks and dinner and is very keen to tell you! :)) He does have a bit of a girly bark. :)) He would be a great friend and companion and would love to join in every family activity. 🙂 Hoping someone will soon fall for our special boy. Xxx

A big cuddle for new arrival Mena. She is a very pretty girl. Very nervous at the moment; she didn't really enjoy being bathed but she did enjoy her dinner. 🙂 Xxx

Bless you Erik for taking the time out of your very busy days to write such a detailed update for us. I really hope that josh problems can soon be diagnosed and then successfully treated so he can live a healthy happy life than he deserves

Daybreaks Diary!

Thanks as always to our fantastic Sunday volunteers, all dogs had lovely morning and afternoon walks. All the inmates also had their teeth cleaned and had a lovely groom. Mikey had a few hours away from the kennels, yet again he was impeccably behaved. The gorgeous little Becky was reserved, she will have a great family. Many thanks too, to Sharron Alexandra photography for their photoshoot today, the raffle was drawn and the winners have been notified that their dog/dogs will be in next year's calendar. Well done everyone. Hoping for some more red and Green signs this week, all of our residents are absolutely gorgeous, please give us a call if you would like to make an appointment and come and visit any of them.
