Over the Rainbow Bridge
Very sadly Josh has come back from foster this afternoon. After a promising start, he is just not too happy around the other dogs in the household and was unfortunately making them unsettled. His foster Mum was very upset to return him, but it has to be right for all concerned. We feel he may be better as an only dog.

FOSTER/PERMANENT HOME DESPERATELY NEEDED This is Max. An absolutely gorgeous boy who is good with other breeds. He was in a home for a short while but returned because of toileting issues. He is a sensitive boy who has been coming home with me since his return. He needs a quiet home and good routine. He will be back at the kennels from tomorrow as I’ll be away which I feel would be detrimental to the confidence he has been building. Can you offer to foster him please? If you can please call the kennels x

Marina went off to the vets to be neutered today. She was such a good girl in the car, settled down straight away and went to sleep. :)) She was happy to go into the vets and had lots of hugs from Debbie their Receptionist. :)) Marina has really settled over the last few days and now greets you with a waggy tail. Sure she will thrive in her new home. Xxx

The weather couldn't quite make its mind up today. All dogs that could go on walks had morning and this afternoon some had sand run fun and the others had walks along the lane. Big thanks to Stacey who popped in briefly and volunteered to take a dog on a walk. It was fairly quiet for visitors, a couple of sand run bookings, a food collection and a nail clipping. Well, the tickets for the Jubilee Afternoon Tea have sold out, I see a fantastic afternoon taking place, not only are the refreshments being laid on, but there will also be a short floor show. It's been a while since the Daybreaks crew put on a show. Looking forward to seeing it.

If you are looking for a cheeky, happy boy then Dougie fits the bill perfectly! He was sitting enjoying the sunshine this afternoon when he spotted the very appealing orange and green soft toys on the donation trolley! He used his cute turned up nose to sniff one out and gently maneuverer it through the bars. :)) He then had a lovley time throwing it around looking very pleased with himself! Xxx

Josh is so friendly and loving, all he wants is lots of love and he is getting used to having long walks in the morning with his Foster sisters. He has been for a ride in the car today to the park, he travelled well and he walks lovely on the lead he is just so good.

Daybreaks Diary!

A lovely warm day, it makes everyone feel so much better. We were a little short of volunteers this morning as there was a Daybreaks Trustee meeting. All inmates were fed, Kennels cleaned a d settled before some members of the team went to the meeting. As were short of help we had a conveyor line in place...all dogs firstly had their teeth cleaned before moving on to the grooming area!!!! This afternoon we faired better and with more help all dogs that could have a walk did in the lovely sunshine. Many thanks to Liz for taking Buddy to the park, to Netty70 for taking Josh out on foster and to Lucy's foster family for officially adopting her today. We also saw gorgeous Marina reserved, her family have a small dog and she was the one who seemed to get on with the little dog, they have had greyhounds before and I feel that Mabel little dog chose Marina. The Beagle party took over the sand run for an hour this morning, they are a regular Sunday morning booking now, it is surreal seeing them all running around, I'm sure there are not hundreds but when you see them on the cameras it's just a blur. Angie popped in before the meeting and spent some time with Minnie, I took Cooper and Peanut with me today, Cooper and Minnie are full brother and sister but Minnie was not impressed to begin with, she mellowed as the day went on!! Siblings eh? Thanks to everyone for their help today, as always very much appreciated.
